The CN9-D is a difficult chassis cause if you want it go fast then you can hardly carry anything to make a punch and you would be better off with a light or cicada. If you wanna slow it down to get that punch you might as well be running an A or AL. That being said I think this build which obviously uses the Yen Lo Wang for inspiration has capabilities that no other cent has. With the gauss in the D's hands you have the ability to use it left and right as well as up and down and still be able to throw the xl300 on there to keep the speed of a Wang. It plays like a Yen Lo Wang but gives you the range to pop shots before the brawl happens. You also have to try your very hardest to be able to overheat this thing, and you still probably wont. Enileph is right, however its probably better on a Wang otherwise you're just wasting the D's capability because you're not using the missile hard points. Especially since the gauss explodes so easily. Sometimes its not always about having a big punch, its using the punch you have-meaning don't always get caught up in high alphas.
here is the thing with using the gauss on the CN9-D. It has a wider arm movement than any of the other Cents. You can shoot just about anywhere with it. I would use a smaller engine, and have AMS and a few streaks. I think that is a build already, but I'm to lazy to check.
It actually has the lowest fire angle, except for the Wang. The arms have 35° like other standard cents, but its torso only rotate by 90° instead of 100°. It makes a 125° angle instead of 135° for other variants (and 120° for the Wang). Its mobility comes from the big engine you fit in, not the arm movement wideness.
The thing is with putting the gauss on the d instead of the yen lo wang you can actually shoot left and right with this as opposed to just up and down as in the yen lo wang. Thats why I said it can do something none of the others can do. A YLW can run this but not as well. And as far as getting caught up in the high alphas that wasnt the intent seeing as 2 srm 6s or even 4s can alpha higher than the gauss with much less tonnage. This build is about doing consistant damage at almost any range with the speed to get to the next viable firing position.
