The video pretty much sums up how I play this mech. I scout a little, plink away at their snipers to help keep them at bay while the rest of the team moves into position. Then I can move in to support from medium to close range with my MLas and SRM's.

Not quite sure how this is one of my variants. Mine runs with 2x SRM6 and only 1x AC

Renamed that for you; take credit when credit is due!

Thanks man, but I used your CN9-A farming build kind of as the basis of this so I thought I'd give credit where it's due also. =p The play style is pretty much the same, register damage on any enemy you can see with the dual AC2's to farm assists.

Not bad but you could've really unloaded into the rear torsos of those Stalkers when you got behind them, the best thing about the Cent is its speed and really fast torso twist, just circle around them when they try to turn with you, TRY is the key word there-use that xl300 to its full potential and flank around the bigger mechs to get huge shots on their flanks and rear.

Yah, I don't do that very often. It's a personal thing. Most of the time when I try to circle an assault something very bad happens to me. Like I get stuck on terrain or someone will sneak up behind me and boom, crit, death for me. That's why I play a less aggressive style. I know I had my assaults behind me so I backed off to not give luck the chance to screw me again. =p

Plus, I don't go for kills, I go for assists. Assists give a ton more CBills than kills. So I usually hang back and support hoping to get a few component destroyed and an assist while watching the backs of our team's hammers.

    Hi phulcrum,

Like your build - I hit on something similar and came to Mechspecs to see whether anyone else was doing it. I had a bit of luck with this variation:

The streaks don't pack as much punch but they are lighter and I found helpful scaring off lights, and (especially with target decay module) allow me to torso twist while still firing off the streaks. I used the weight saving on 2 heat sinks.

A weakness with this build - which yours shares - is it could really do with at least one more ton of AC/2 ammo. If you didn't have too many heat problems I might try trading one heat sink for ammo and see how it goes.

One thing I just don't like about the AC2 is the heat it builds up for such a small caliber weapon, so when you pair it with SRMS or energy weapons you really lose that rate of fire on the hotter maps, like Caustic and Tourmaline.

This build is quite good for the CN9-D. I would downgrade the Engine for more Ammo and one additional Heatsink.
