That was PRE-PATCH. SRMs are much better now ;)

Always a great Cent to run. 5 Star. Good on ya, and welcome to MechSpecs!

(I believe this build has been posted before, but, you're fresh onto the forum, no harm no foul) :D

My variants that I am running on these days.
Type A: Fast AMS version. Less armor on the hands, but I find 11 DHS enough for engagements. You may opt to use less ammo, cause I find 3 tons of SRM ammo is doing ok.

Type B: Simply replaces MLas with SPLas. Use the standard Variants as base.

The 9D is usable too, especially if you want speed. I have this built, as shown in another thread. A bit more lightly armed, but much faster.

I ran something similar to the OP, and hell its so powerful against any fool running in front of ya!

Killed a Jager, a Hunch, a Highlander and then an Atlas in chain, just with concentrated Face-Punch while running around. They had no chance to react to my attack.

My take. I really like skribs logic of placing all the ammo + CASE in the L torso. Why doesn't everyone do that??
I HATE taking armor off my legs.

Proof this loadout works with an amateur-avid pilot like myself!

Man, I am struggling with that build :D You need to play so carefully and keep so many things in mind (don't get hit too much, don't waste your ammo, don't expose yourself... OPEN THE FRIGGIN MISSILE DOOR BAYS...keep running..), but I think it's the most you can get of the CN9-A.

I had one really good run so far on HPG Manifold. The center base room is definately build for a zombie brawler like this. An Atlas and a 'Fract were tragically overwhelmed by my zombie ;-)

Is there an alternate version with more ammo, anyone?

I am currently running this with 2x MLas, 3x SRM6, STD 265... it may not be as fast but i had room for AMS and 5 tons of SRM ammo as well as full armor... running in the 90s with speed tweak... will try to post my load out later... cant now because of office internet firewall...

    Striker with an "i" ;)
The main difference is obvious: while the KTO pack a bigger fire-power, it also mount an XL engine, making it way easier to destroyed. At the opposite, the Zombie Hunger is a pain in the ass to take down (see the "centurion survives" thread): you rip its arms off, then its left and right torsos, and it's still here with 20% health killing you with its medium lasers.
This is two very different philosophies.

About Artemis, personal preference I'd say.
I think Artemis is a big bonus on SRM6s, but it comes at a high price (slower engine, something like STD250).

    Thanks for your Answer Epikt.

Did SRM lose some its punch during the last patches? I have the impression that a volley of SRM18 should do a lot of dmg, but sometimes it can be really disappointing that the scoreboard tells the opposite :/  o_O

It's not from the last patches, it a problem of several months: the SRMs have a lot of hit registration problems. Meaning you hit but register no damage. Devs know this and are working on it, they say, but so far nothing to fix it.
That's one of the reasons why you don't see a lot a SRM based builds these days, while a year ago the game was full of splatcats and zombie hungers.

This is my take on the zombie hugger... it does not reach 98km with speed tweak but 96.2km... my bad my previous post i said i was using a 265 std engine... was really using the 270 std engine... sorry arujinho for the misrepresentation... but i think this is better...

    std 270 engine

SRM hit detection is something that has been in the "being worked on" column for about a year now.

yup i was in one game and i only did 35 damage... wtf... so i resorted to chain fire them instead of one big burst from all three SRM6s which is a silly work around... but at least it will register for what it is worth...

    SOMETIMES....

You are playing "the law of averages" when you chain fire. Rather than 18 missiles hitting you are banking that at least a few out of 18 will hit given that you triple your chances due to firing 3 separate times.

    This shit needs fixing PDQ

yes it registers sometimes... was testing it in training grounds... 1% damage from 18 srms... they really need to fix that... while its not yet fixed my centurion is taking a vacation... using the CN9-D, CN9-AL, or my shadowhawk in the meantime until i come up with a new configuration for my cn9-A...

was using my build yesterday... only did 49 damage... wow... :whacko: after hitting 3 mechs with 7 volleys of 3x srm6... it really is turning me off...

Good afternoon! just registered, my first post well anyway il just get back to the point.
Since they announced giving out free CN9-A(C) mech i've been thinking about how to make it decent without wasting more than 1mil C-Bills,since i've already managed to waste as most of the players the starter bonus,so all ye need to do is:
Toss out med pulse lasers and sell em,toss in AC2 for backup, or simply to have anything for longer range if ye can't reach your opponents, replace one SRM4 with SRM2 to have enough weight to carry some ammo, since ye can't afford changing engine etc.

    Here it is:

Variant for guys liking to keep some distance:

Couple fun variations, haven't tested these yet,as you can see they're pretty lame and i do not recommend these for anyone, however if somebody could try them out, feedback about how they perform would be much appreciated:
