    ALTERNATE

    CHAIN THOSE FLAMERS!
^ That is #1 about this build.

Okay, so lets get this joker into the action! This build is just for FUN and for someone who is bored of the usual and wants to jump head first into some serious trouble. Flamers are hands down the most useless weapon in the game so why not put them to use!

SRMs are left click, LBX right click and Flamers are thumb to hold down if you have 3button mouse.

Seriously though, this build is fun and actually works if piloted correctly. Sure, you could throw two medium lasers and probably be more effective but where is the fun in that?! Get in close and blind your enemies and make them panic. You will want to stick with some brawling buddies like any medium brawl. Let your friends go in first to take fire and knock off enemy armor. You will run in as soon as possible and blind that Direwolf that is knocking down your friends. People are running heat vision on many maps and it will make them scream out loud begging you to stop with the bright lights!

I charged a full health double gauss direwolf and blinded him so bad he TURNED AND RAN away from my lowly centurion.. It is definitely a fun build. Took off his left torso too and opened up his CT before I was done.

Once again, this is a build just to mix things up and have some fun, no competitions are going to be won with this but you will frequently hear people perplexed asking "Did I really just see a cent running around with flamers???"

I played around with this guy a few hours last night and figured I could drop a ton of LBX ammo and switch an SRM 2 to a 4. I haven't done too much playing with this build but the few runs I took him out were averaging 400-500dmg but I wasn't really playing with much tactic and instead just kind of blind rushing the first enemies that I could.

People think flamers are for overheating mechs and while it can do that (e.g. stalker shutting down 3 times in a row in front of me) with this build your just using them as cover to help blind the enemy while you do your little death circle around them. Best to play it like you would regularly play your Cent-D but if you feel like engaging that stray mech solo then you have a bit of extra safety on your side.

Last night I played mostly kamikaze and suicidal charging stupidly just for the fun of it but even when on the losing side of battle you can put out some damage that people don't expect when all they see is flames in their face.

(^the damage here surprised me as it was kind of a poor match but managed to get into a death dance with a timberwolf at the end of it and take out both his side torsos before his buddies dropped me)

As I said I wasn't doing anything serious just fooling around but if you were ambitious you could probably drop 16armor on left arm and 8 on each leg to bring 2x SRM4s instead to pack more of a punch. When you're toe to toe and your heat near its limit lay off the SRMs and keep up with the Flamers and LBX since the LBX is much higher dmg/heat. SRMs are great for opening those armor slots and nice when you have the heat to use them but the LBX is where your money is at.

Where do I even begin. Lets start with what I think is good about this build.
    -XL300, great engine
    -LBX10, quirked and good ammo.
-SRM2, not great, but quirked and ok ammo

But what I think is bad.
-SRM4's are better, as you get more damage per ton. This is even mentioned in your second post
-Flamers suck. They suck so much, some have been warped to a separate universe where there is nothing. AKA a black hole of suck.

    Stats compared to a ML
    Weight- 1 ton each
    Damage for Flamers
.70 DPS, but with a 14% chance to do .77, 8% chance to do 1.54, and a 3% chance to do 2.31 DPS.

    Damage for ML
5 damage per shot, or 1.28 dps unquirked or un-moduled

    Heat comparison
1 heat for flamers, 4 heat for ML.

    Range comparison
90m max for flamers, vs 540m max for ML

    3/5,
Just for not using the ML over the flamers, I still see this build as good. 3-5 stars

Thank you for your rating and I too would agree 3/5 stars for effectiveness, but I rate it a 5-star in FUN.

Not using the ML is definitely a waste but at the same time it is the whole point of the build. This is a joke build that is fun to run around in but there are a few things I'd like you to consider about the flamers...

The heat is non-existent. I don't know if this is a bug or not but by chaining the flamers your heat does not go up. With a constant spew of flame your heat will slowly drop so you can fire them all day long with very little consequence even if you're on Terra Therma.

At close range going all out dps you're not going to be using MLs anyway in most cases because the DPS/Heat isn't high enough. SRMs give 2.87 DPH, LBX gives 5 DPH and ML gives 1.25 DPH so you wouldn't be firing those anyway because eventually it will cut into your LBX vomit. With this in mind is why I decided to try out useless flamers, not for damage, not for heating the enemy (which it does) but merely to blind them so you can be safer as you do a circle around your enemy at close range.

Yes MLs ARE better for almost all play and I won't argue that. MLs have so many advantages even just being able to shoot down UAVs which is another thing you can't do with this build. Yes I am aware that getting all up in the enemy's face isn't the smartest thing to do but it gives such a rush that when I'm just fooling around I love to do it.

If you're bored of the same old stuff and want to get in people's faces, I really think you should try this build out because it is just plain fun.

Not enough LBX-10 ammo. With the quirked ROF, you need 75 rds at a minimum. I carry 90 and can still find ways to run out by the end of the match.
