LOL that is up to you to go through and see which builds have been posted :p I'm working on another project at the moment.

I can tell you that the CN9-A(C) build (3x SRM6, 2x MLas, STD engine) you posted is a Zombie build and has already been posted. Yours might have slight variations but the weapons are the same and thus it is "the same build" so start with that one.

Also, please only post one build to a thread and label correctly. Makes it easier for people to search/scan.

true :( I love the build but hit detection is a bit** Some times I ended whit 300+ damage some times less that 100 I think it is server related bug when it is on heavy load. Last battle I get a nice hit on a blackjack (under 200m clear front shoot) and his armour dint even turn red o_O same at the second shoot. And then I just get killed -.-". Nice build if every think works you can kill before get killed at close range.

Basically arrived at this with Artemis after getting free mech. Figured got the missile slots so why not load them up and see what happens.

Was quite pleased and oddly one of the few mechs I have that people always go after the gun arm loose it all the time oh well fine by me I blast ya with 18 SRMs some more

This is a fantastic build. I got the mech for free a while ago after completing a challenge. I tried several different things, none of which I was happy with. I have never been much of a SRM guy, but after all else fails go with what works.

I loaded up my old account that I have had since the closed beta days. I gave up on it a long time ago as I screwed it up really bad and felt it would be easier to start over with a new account. I only played with the old account when a free mech was available to win. Now that I have gotten two free mechs I am trying to load them out as good as possible with very limited funds.

With very limited funds being the case, I created a somewhat modified version of the original Zombie Hugger. I kept the standard engine 245, which saved 4.5 tons and while yes it's slower, the trade off was worth it. With the extra 4.5 tons I added two more SRM Ammo's, a machine gun, 1 machine gun ammo and upped the armor as much as possible.

Normally a machine gun wouldn't be that big of a deal, especially just 1. However if I get two full salvos of all three SRM 6 + Artemis off on the bad guy, their armor is usually so weak after those hits that the machine gun with the 2 medium lasers does a great deal of damage. Since it's just a machine gun I still use the arm to soak in the shots and if I loose it, I don't loose a major piece of weaponry or ammo.

In the end, I love this thing. I net's me a minimum of 2 kills per round now where as before I was lucky to get even 1.

Thanks for the build. It's awesome.

Like above, got this one as a Champion for free. (with Artemis)
This has become one of my go to mechs for ridiculousness. Even an assault flinches when it sees this guy coming. There is something satisfying about coming up to LRM boat and saying: "Hi there, would you like some SRMs in your face? Sure you would. SPLAT!"

Playing it with 5 tons of ammo, it barely lasts the round.

Taking some advantage from 1/2 ton ammo options to add AMS to the one 2 posts above

    how I run it:

5t or at least 4.5 t ammo is a must. I might get an extra DHS somewhere but I had to use the STD260 for something. Artemis is a really sexy upgrade.

I know i'm fresh new to this board and to this game but i wanted to try out some mech building anyway , so here is the version i would try of this build ( when i will eventually buy this mech , i have a CN9-AL at the moment looking forward to élite it )

I have the ( bad ) habit to try to fill all the hardpoints of a mech as you can see , it can't zombie and that's something i'm not that happy about but it pushes the alpha to the limit and i like that a lot ! It could take some more ammo or a little better engine if you remove AMS and AMS ammo .

Here's a slower version that packs an even heavier punch !

    I use this:

Getting consistents 400+ dmg even with bad performing. I traded to an XL engine, and added a BAP. Oh, and aim a light legs and shoot and alpha... Got 2 times in a row Double leg destruction

    STD engine + artemis.

Go to STD260 + 1DHS or 1t of ammo if you feel like that's a good decision. Not running STD in a build like this is just a big no.

I can really use the extra free tonnage from an XL. Its an extra 7.5 tons with top engine (from STD275 to XL275). Its a lot of extra equipt: 3 tons to AMS and BAP, 1 more to DHS, 1 to downgrade to Standard armour with a 0.5 increase in protection, 1 more to ammo (the build itself its ammo-hungry) and the last ton its the difference that u used STD270 instead of STD275.

To be honest, if i loose the SRMs in this build, its nowhr close as funny, so i can deal with the idea to die for a Side Torso destruction, like the Joker would say, with a smile in my face......and 18 more missiles in my target

XL Engine with a limited Short Range Brawler Build? Not a good idea.. The only XL Direct Fire Build in the CN9-A i had acceptable Performance was this one:

Just shoot from the Corner and when the Jam comes, fall back. And TT to avoid losing the Cannon.Arm.

Another experimental build was this one:

What can work in the hands of a skilled Pilot would be this classic Wub Version:

But against skilled Shooters you still die early.. :p

We had no scouts in our team, so i was running around the frontlines in my CN9A with UAV. around the corner suddenly 6 mechs including a DWF. Kaunch UAV, run back, and survive with all weapons (though hurt armor), and no RT. Being able to use your entire right torso as a shield is totally worth anything you could gain from having an XL engine. You have the arm of a banshee strapped to one side.

I disagree. Thats a quite casual situation, and if u keep engaged in this build instead of hit-and-run all the time, u are doing it wrong with it. Its designed to exploit weak points or create them.

I guess we have different playstyles then. I run XL275 in my HBK4P (granted, not piloted for several months now) which is a hit n run mech due to the heat. I find that this zombie mech doesn't overheat quite as fast as one might think and often engage in longer brawls. And the casual situations happen more often nowadays with the alpha that some mechs carry around *coughcclannerscough* ;)

but to each their own. I prefer more 'zombie' in my 'zombie hugger'.

See? I find suicidal to run XL in a Hunchie. That right torso is a giant "hit-me-here-to-destroy-nearly-all-my-firepower" sign :p

I wonder how you guys play this build in current meta.

I used to have pretty high w/l and k/d with it. But not now anymore.
I just have to do nothing while both teams are raining lurms and poking with LLasors from half map distance and no one even think about engaging (ofter literally no one — even lights are sniping/lurming ). And then suddenly score is something like 1:8 and losing (and being gang raped) is imminent.

I directly pay no attention to it for 3-5mins. I just search for some songs in youtube and decide which BSO i want to be listening to. Then i just reconnect and enter the fight. I prefer to aim legs
