    Hello guys,

my first post here. I had sooo much fun on the quirked-up Centy D last night that i had to share this with everyone. Maximizing ammo on the LBX is essential since the dmg is too fast and reliable to pass up. Feel free to toss in a MPLa cooldown mod if u have 3M cbills to spare.

Quick enough to chase any medium and some lights. pulled 800+ dmg in 2 of the 3 games i played. Got caught in a cramped space with a dire on the third. =/

Pls let me know what you think. =)

After epikt made me rethink this, i decided to ditch the useless 2xDHS in the engine, switch to normal armor to gain slots and added an SRM4 for moar dps!

    Welcome on Mechspecs.

I'm using the same weapon system, very effective with the quirks and modules.
That being said, the two additional DHS are utterly useless, a 71% (!!!) heat efficiency is a waste. Better boost up the engine:

That's what I use. One less ton of ammo, but so far it's been enough.

But maybe you used the XL300 because it's the stock engine and you don't have higher rating. Did you try this?

You're losing on DPS but gain range, and range can be useful on a Centurion with XL engine.

Yea i am recycling the stock XL300 and am not willing to fork out the cash for an additional 25 engine rating. You are right that the DHS are totally wasted. I'll give the large pulse a try! thanks for the feedback.

To be honest the XL325 is not the first engine you want to buy, you won't use it on a lot of mechs.

    5/5,
As a ylw user who loves the speed and almost full armor it has in ac20 2 mlas configuration, this is an awesome alternative. The shotgun dakka makes u feel like Arnold. Still hardy, good range and the dmg does rack up like the OP said. I run with SHS and 60 rounds of birdshot.

haha...a regular Centy D giving the YLW a run for its money?? impossibruu!! glad u liked it, howard.

mind linking a smurfy of your variation? i was able to squeeze in 75 rounds of birdshot and SRM4 and 200 missiles. kinda curious as to why u are limited to 60.

That's all I could put in. It's due to the lack of FF armor.

You have 15 free slots, enough for armor upgrade and one ton of ammo.
Interesting to see this build can handle simple heat sinks, though it's of course not optimal.

This thing is ridiculous with the LBX-10 quirks. I'm thinking that you could basically base everything about keeping that LBX firing--it's almost AC2-like, but hits for a shotgun-10.

Anyone know how the LBX range module impacts the pattern?

    5/5,
Excellent build and a lot of fun to play!

I'm running the XL325 version and the thing is so damn fast. If only I knew how to play it...

I think it's a bit of a shame to not max legs (good players will go for them on a cent), the XL320 looks better for me, it's just 1.8 km/h drop, but fully armored legs. They store ammo, too...

i rarely die due to my legs being shot off. i usually die to a side torso blowing up.

anyway, i prefer the XL300 because it is a common engine that can be shared with many mechs and it allows me to carry more LBX ammo. 75 is hardly enough in most matches. =)
