Had my best game ever last night in my Raven 3L - 6 kills, 3 assists, 750 damage. (I'll look for the screen shot when I get home). At the end of the game I am the last man standing against two fairly fresh ~85% Stalkers so I've retreated to my base to get a little support from the turrets. While I'm working around putting shots into one of the Stalkers a laser turret goes off, cores my back LT and kills me. That kind of sucked and was a little embarassing. What's most embarassing is that the Stalkers never did kill the DC Highlander that had been sitting in our base since the beginning of the match and so we had to sit around waiting for 2 minutes while they shot up the turrets and time ran out.
My last few games were awesome in my Catapult! 900 damage, 700 damage, handful of kills, and then... Well, at least I was such a good spotter that I had equal Spotting Assists and Damage Done! One those unfortunate they have a bit too many ECM mechs/are in the tunnel and I can't do much. I got my 1 damage on a dumb fire at 800ish meters randomly firing at a hill to try and scare some enemies away.
I finally got my first zero damage game ever the other day, didn't SS it though. In fairness, it was a capture game, and I spent 90% of it grabbing points...until someone dropped an airstrike on my head. There was no smoke graphic, and it headshot me
Here's one for you: Was just playing on Tourmaline with some people (I recall it was Michael and Chattahah) in my TDR-5SS Sniping a bit with my dual PPC/ERLL I poke over the ridge to fire PPCs at a jumping victor. BAM dead. 52 damage. What killed me? A Raven-4X supposedly, not damage to my head armor but still a headshot. I congratulate him on his hacks and vent my dismay at the Teamspeak channel. Saved the shadowplay video as proof and also made a screenshot of the death. The Raven's name was 'Rickon1975', and the sound quality had a lot of typing/clicking noise even though I moved my mic lately. And the embarassing part is: this isn't a real match. This is quite literally the accurate description of how I just dreamt about playing MWO. I don't think I've ever been in a game with Michael and Chattahah together yet. It's an embarassing feat in itself and I don't think Rickon1975 is an actual player, but I did just recently catch up with Game of Thrones.
New thread... http://www.mechspecs.com/forum/index.php?topic=6462.msg42073#msg42073 Is it bad when you start having MWO dreams?
We should probably have more falling damage and/or some real damage from landing a 80 ton mech on something that's supposed to weigh only 50 for example :x
I once landed on top of a Cent in my BlackJack.... I didn't get a DFA, but I bet it sure looked funny me riding around on his shoulders for a good half minute.
Crap, I forgot to post it, but I dropped in a couple consecutive games with a guy who jumped his ShadowHawk onto the back of Stalkers, and spent the entire round as an extra turret. Edit: Here they are. I was mistaken, and he was using a Blackjack to ride around on Stalkers. Unfortunately they are on awfully dark maps, so a little hard to see: http://s21.postimg.org/8ucvi0yt3/Screen_Shot0111.jpg[/img]
And also proper damage from not feathering your fall properly.... so many jump snipers I see would be leg less... pun intended.
It does not fit with the purpose of the thread, it's actually one of the most memorable kills I happened to witness, but since you're talking about it: a Jenner killing a Stalker with a "high kick" hear: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55c2ru7Vr_0 It's so awesome I'm not even mad being stolen the kill.
You got those matches where someone just asks a question like "what is the best mech" or whatever. I once got pretty involved in such a discussion, and, when typing was found by two enemies and just got smashed...
Had one last night that was pretty bad on HPG Manifold. Our team was starting to pile under the middle pyramid, and we were going in to a pretty big fight there. One guy though...this frigging Atlas stops right in the center of the door, in perfect position to block people from the left AND the right at getting past him. I'm stuck on the left, a Highlander is stuck on his right, both of us scream "MOVE ATLAS GO" in team chat at the same time. Teammates derp into the backs of all of us, and it's just a giant clusterfuck, all centered on this one idiot not moving. I turn my view right, and see it. Red smoke. 2 teammates die, HGN and I both go to about 55%, Atlas to about 80%. Atlas, not knowing what the fuck just happened, turns to his left and blasts me, destroying every weapon on my mech and one leg from the ammo explosion. Enemy team comes up, opens fire, and gets 6 more kills in the span of about 5 seconds. Atlas: "Why did you shoot me in the side?" Entire team: "They dropped a strike on us, idiot." I can't remember the Atlas' player name, but I wanted his graphics card to melt, taking the rest of his PC with it... TL;DR, Atlas blocked the door, entire team blocked us all in, and we lost 8/12 of the team in 10 seconds.
I already post it somewhere else on the forum but I made it only a single time. I was in my Locust on canyon map and, for information, I am a terrible light player. I managed to survive the first minutes of the match, but I was heavily hit on both legs. I was running at max speed while searching enemy team players, when I suddenly crash into a thunderbolt of my team, destroying both legs in the process. I was not even knowing it was possible
i had done it on purpose before on my locust. both of my legs had red internals, so i couldn't do any more fighting really, so i rammed myself on a friendly atlas LRM boat.
Hmm my most embarassing death i arleady told. Today was the day for my worst death. Well thanks to PGI i get shot in the front and die by rear ct hit while standing with my back to a wall. All hail their mighty hitboxes! proof: I mean how the hell should anyone be able to hit my rear ct in that spot?!
Sure it wasn't ammo as I've had a CT ammo explosion that seemed to originate in a crit before with a similar result? Fairly sure, as in almost certain, that it showed as an engine destroyed rather than ammo explosion.
