Seems about right, my two good games were in that ballpark - 5 kills = 100 points 5 assists = 50 points 800 damage = 53 points Win = 20 Total = 223 I was just wondering how consistently y'all can do that.
Score Formula: E.g. 1 Out of all your rounds in this whole time your best 10 Games are average: - 5Kills - 5Assists - 750 Damage (you don't do any Teamdamage) with - 5 Wins - 5 Loss 5Kills x 10Rounds = 50 x 20Points = 1000Points + 5Assists x 10Rounds = 50 x 10Points = 500Points + 750Damage x 10 Rounds = 7500 % 15 = 500Points + 5Wins x 20Points = 100Points + 5Loss x 5Points = 25Points ------------------------------------------- Total: 2125Points E.g. 2: Out of all your rounds in this whole time your best 10 Games are average: - 6Kills - 6Assists - 900 Damage (you don't do any Teamdamage) with - 8 Wins - 2 Loss 6Kills x 10Rounds = 60 x 20Points = 1200Points + 6Assists x 10Rounds = 60 x 10Points = 600Points + 900Damage x 10 Rounds = 9000 % 15 = 600Points + 8Wins x 20Points = 160Points + 2Loss x 5Points = 10Points ------------------------------------------- Total: 2570Points @Lokesh I guess i had something about 50 rounds
I plug all my good games into an excel formula that takes that score x10 rounds so I can see if it will raise my current actual average. Games like 5 kills 7 assists and 800 damage put you in the 2400 range, just need to rack them up!
I managed to do this in a combo between a Raven 3L and then a Stalker 3F (brand new mech, no skills). That was as high as I could get without solo-sync dropping with other friends like I saw some of the contestants doing. I figure "why game the system, you will never know what you are REALLY made of if you utilize the system like that" and so I did it my way....
Congrats Blagg and Solahma! Looks like I accidentally won a house banner by randomly choosing Steiner as my faction.
Was on a roll for Davion until I lost the will to keep dropping. Hit 2nd for Davion but only for maybe 4 hrs before falling to 4th then exchanged with 3rd for a while as mine and others scores edged up. Gave up and went to do 12 man practice then drops... which we then won every 12 man battle over 3 hours and was great fun... unlike the tournament. Woke up this morning at 7th which was slightly disappointing but as my goal was 10th I guess job done. Not sure if I'm stupid or not but never used artillery once, which I'm sure cost me a lot of pts. Also never really got this idea of spreading damage to pad scores so sadly never broke 1,000 damage once even when I got my single 8 kill/2assist battle for 918 damage. As I track my damage/kill efficiency per mech the idea of raising your standings via stripping off legs and arms on dc'd mech I find odd but I watched several people do it that are at the top of the tournament. But then I also watched the synch dropping and people letting themselves get killed or running interference on their own side. Particulary obvious as I see the names each week in lance together.... Not bitter though as was generally fun and I achieved the goal I set myself. Thats my second tournament and I ran a new build and tweaked it a few times till I found one I'm very happy with... then ran it out in 12 mans and smugly killed people left right and centre as after 50 or so straight drops in 2 days I knew the mech fairly well. Also taught me enough to know what I need to do to get higher without falling to the levels of some other competitors. PS: Getting good kill totals was hard when your battles are full of people in top 5 slots as you'd all end up with 2-3..... and feel you'd totally wasted another round...
Coincidentally getting the Ace of Spades Achievement at the height of the tournie in US TZ was particularly gratifying. Being a sad individual I screenshotted that.
Getting much kills AND damagescores was very difficult imo, because almost everyone of the Top players ran either ECM.Ravens, LRM.Assaults, AC.Banshees, AC.Jagers. That was at least in most of my matches. Either you got killstealed or you get rollstomped if you try to play offensively and get targeted for infinite Spam. Initially i played my new Griffins, but hell no real chance to make good scores - you got obliterated within seconds if you reveal yourself from cover. In the End i put out my good old Stalker 5M and did some high scores myself by spamming back. It was exciting to get to Top5, but hell it was no real fun for me. What i experienced was that NARC become so important since Patch. Whenever i saw a Raven i knew it had NARC and i literally climbed up the trees. Terrifying! What really made me angry were two Atlas Pilots who simply stand back in base, just to wait till the End when all Mechs were screwed and they could steal the Kills in the End, while we teammates got screwed by their Atlas Pushes because we had no Tanks! I really was so angry and scolded them. Ok, now i can play Griffins again in peace. Blagg
Lol tbh the matches were odd as I had one with 11 assaults and 1 heavy on our side. It was interesting as I won vastly more matches than I lost over the tournament - my ego would like to say it was because I was on the side but suspect thats bollocks. Never ran with ECM or AMS once this weekend tbh though despite the black rain....
Well done everyone!!! I saw a LOT of hardcore players out there dropping again and again and again and stealing scoring some impressive kills!!! While there was a little bit of shenanigans from a few people this was a very fun event for me to participate in overall!! I was glad to take part in boosting the points for the glory of the Coordinator!!!! So much so that I bought myself a Kurita banner as a reward for having worked hard at pixels and binary!
I like the fact that surviving the game didn't give you points for this tourney. It was a little redundant before and you had a lot of cases where someone would run off and shut down. Or those frustrating games where you were doing very well, but you get punished for sticking your neck out. My experience for this tourney went something like this: FRIDAY -Started out fine, had a couple really good games in my Howling Banshee and Firebrand -Had fun in the no-so-good games with a lot of close games or decent wins SATURDAY -LRMs -More LRMs -Frustration -More LRMs -No progress -Quit.... time for group drops SUNDAY -Seriously F*** this LRM spam -Rage -Cool off -Take Raven 3L out for the rest of night -Realize ECM sniping with 2 ERLLas is very enjoyable since you're not getting roflstomped by LRMs -Thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the tournament not having to deal with LRM spam. -Get called a kill-stealer by Sun Cobra even though my average game was near or over 1000 damage, near double the next guy on my team (YUP that's certainly kill stealing alright!). Definitely put the icing on the cake. I'm a little disappointed I didn't have time to get a few more games in near the end and maintain 2nd or shoot for 1st, but hey, I have a Mechbay for my last Atlas now
I went to bed at #10 with an hour to go in the tournament. It wasn't for a lack of trying though, as I spent 1.5 hours past my bedtime to try to better my score. I wasn't competitive being tired and I didn't improve my score in the last 15 games I played so I decided to let fate take over. I was very fastidious on logging this time around. If I played a game I thought would beat my current top 10 games, I waited for the score update. In the end, my top 10 games: Code: Mech Mode Dmg Kills Assists Match Score Death Result Tourney Score Total Map Mechs Notes ctf3d a 597 4 6 90 W 203 203 caustic 12-3 2 shots left, missed alot ctf3d c 615 2 9 103 W 196 1031 tourmaline 12-3 ctf3d c 541 4 6 87 x W 83+117=200 1668 alpine 12-6 ctf3d c 756 5 5 106 W 106+120=226 1774 tourmaline 12-0 5min game, could have had 8 kills ctf3d c 1033 5 4 138 W 82+151=233 1899 therma 12-5 had 4 or 6 shots left, used art on atlas, shouldnt have conserved ammo on the hgn fs9e c 480 3 9 87 W 39+160=199 1948 canyon 12-2 could have had 2-3 more kills ctf3d c 593 5 5 ? I guess I'm not really built to do well in these things. I shoot to kill and I don't go ring-around-the-rosey tagging every mech. As a result, only 2 of my top 10 games had a kills+assists total of 12. One of them was in a firestarter as a slump-buster. I had 4 other games over 900 and a 1000 pt game not count as they were losses or I didn't tag enough mechs. In the end, I played 55 games in my CTF-3D and 7 games in my FS9-E. I decided to leave my victor at home this time. Fun stats: I did 30839 points of damage in 62 games for a 497.4 average damage per match. I gave 112 people a bad day, and I ejected out of my burning mech 37 times for a 3.03 KDR. Beaten by 1....
Ended up in 51st for the tourney (For Kurita) but i don't think that's bad for a person that is not great but not bad at this game. My only saving grace was finding this forum to improve what i was doing =)
Wow I totally missed that. I play very aggressively usually and was trying to be more careful this time. However, kept finding myself leading most pushes as people kept cowarding and waiting for others to take the damage/soften up targets. Would have taken a few more risks if I'd known to grab that last few kills when my CT etc was bare.
I started way too late and played way too little games to have a meaningful score . I had one 6 kill 5 assist 870 damage match in my quickdraw, but for the rest I had mostly 400-650 damage + 0-2 kill matches and complete failures in the few hours that I was able to play for the tournament. Ended with 1667 points.
The scoring seems a little whack.... Code: Mech Mode Dmg Kills Assists Match Score Death Result Theoretical Score Actual Score Diff ctf3d a 597 4 6 90 W 200 203 +3 ctf3d c 615 2 9 103 W 191 196 +5 ctf3d c 541 4 6 87 x W 196 200 +4 ctf3d c 756 5 5 106 W 220 226 +6 ctf3d c 1033 5 4 138 W 229 233 +4 fs9e c 480 3 9 87 W 202 199 -3 ctf3d c 593 5 5 ? The one exception being in my firestarter. I invariably graze my friendlies with my medium lasers and my monkey arms in my CTF. Conversely, in my FS9 I am generally very precise and don't hit people. I remember that game on canyon and I was barraged by friendly fire LRMs hugging enemy mechs with my machine guns. I am as close as sure as possible that those are my tournament scores for those games. They all add up to 2152 like they should. The first 203 score was the first game I played, so there is no way that one is wrong. Anyone have any ideas?
Its almost like you're missing a variable there as you have scores above and below. Otherwise I'd say it was damage on friendlies or an error in the order you're applying BODMAS (as they used to call it when I went to school a "few" decades ago!).
