What other Online Games besides MWO do you else play?

Oh, right. This thread. Forgot it was here. The quick run-down:
DDO, it's something that Don Zappo and I play with another friend; LotRO, though not much anymore. I got behind after Dol Amroth hit because I got pissed at Turbine's XP-to-Quest payout. That is, I should have reached level cap when I ran out of quests... but instead I was two levels shy; GW2, can't wait for the new expansion; I have Path of Exile installed, but never finished it.

That's about it.

 

@Azakael What servers do you play on out of interest as I occasionally dip into DDO, Lotro and GW2?

 

@Remarius DDO, I think we're on Orien.
LotRO, both Landroval and Nimrodel. (My main is on Nimrodel.)
GW2, Sanctum of Rall, but doesn't really matter due to the Megaserver system.

 

Well that was a very grim climb but I've just finished all the modifications for the the Tiger H1 (5.7), Panther D (5.7) and the Panzer IV/70 (5.3).

Most matches were full of 6.7's and the irony of trying to kill a Tiger II (H) earlier today in a Tiger H1 were not lost on me... yes I was fighting the German heavy tank three above my own in exactly the same line....

On the good side I've researched, bought and crewed the Tiger E, Panther A, Panther G and Kugelblitz. So i can step up to do the BR 6.0 Tiger E and Panther A (Panther G after) while carrying on researching the other 6.7 tanks (Tiger II P, Tiger II H, Jagdpanther and Ferdinand). That will also open up tier 5 including the two last mediums which are also BR 6.7 (Panther F and II). Of course that will also take maybe 2-2.5 million silver at a vague guess so....

Any advice on how to effectively pen a IS-3 nowdays? I keep getting one shotted by them but can't find anywhere to pen them and do proper damage in my Tiger E/Panther A. I've found myself having to shoot the gun which only really works if they stop to fire. It worked well against one last night when I got the gun twice but bounced another 5 off when trying for weak points.... and he wasn't shooting at me! The visibility bit on the top can be penned but doesn't seem to do anything and the round doesn't deflect inside so its useless to shoot beyond to get an assist. I've tried for the turret ring but not successfully hit it once.

Got a couple of kills but I have to be honest so far German tanks seem woefully weak. The Panther is totally redundant in almost all aspects. The Tiger E gets pitted against the IS3 in almost every match and your only kills come when you can flank one and get a lucky shot. That of course includes your target not being aware of you as moving even slightly gives it an insane rounded defence.

 

Have to say for BR 6.0 realistic battles for Germans is a literal waste of your time. Wall to wall IS-3's that just go hull down one shotting stuff or pushing spawn points. I switched to arcade after losing 10 of 13 matches (several only just broke even with premium and 2 made me losses) and my results jumped. Have a horrible feeling that things won't improve much as its so unbalanced at that BR.

Edit: Wow just realised I had a +15% silver booster running through those two. Without premium and that I'd have been making steady losses on every match. I see why everyone in my Eve alliance switched out of German tanks.

Found a really useful article. I know its aimed at the Panzerkampfwagen Tiger Ausf. B "Königstiger" but its full of good advice. For example:

"If you get your gun shot, you can repair without the Parts modification by stopping your tank inside the capture zone. If you get your transmission or engine shot, and somehow you don't catch a fire and happen to be near a capture zone, you can ask one of your allies to tow you to the capture zone. Remember that you must press the acceleration key (default: W) when someone is towing you, you won't move but it will unlock your brakes making you easy to move."

Oh well Jagdpanther researched, bought and crewed for another 410k. The Tiger E was finished mod wise yesterday and just two modules to finish on the Panther A so soon I'll switch to doing the Panther G (6.0), Tiger II (P) 6.7, Jagdpanther (6.7) and Kugelblitz (6.7). That way I can level up the Panther II (H) and Ferdinand more effectively to finish off tier 4 and open up 5. Not sure on that Kugelblitz as a 65 second reload time is ridiculous unless each magazine is huge.

 

Anyone tried the Armoured Warfare beta yet and have an opinion?

If you like Blowing WW I & II Battleships, Cruisers, Destroyers and Carriers, World of Warships just hit open beta with Japan and US ships for starters.

 

Problem with games like Armored Warfare or World of Warships is the tier system that makes me want to choke on my own vomit.

Whatever sort of dingus thought up that game design concept should be dragged into the street and shot.

 

It's still better than Ground Forces or camp land if you prefere ... sorry i real dislike ground forces ...

World of Warship is really really good. AW really really classic it is WoT2 i m very surprise wargaming doesnt sue Bethesda.

 

Feels very different to me - fast paced mobile warfare.

 

What I hear from someone cracking out on it the past week (and a great MWO player at that) is that Armored Warfare is WoT with modern tanks and that the game is harder than MWO.

I bought Shogun 2 and beat that last week in the 75% off on Steam sale. Gonna put up my campaign playthru on youtube.

Also I beat Stranded II the other day in an 8 hour sitting last weekend. I wanna crack out hard on Stranded Deep next...
