Ya know if we could find way to toss simple info on the forum post with a link back to Smurfy that would be the simpilist way of doing it I think but I think shorter URLs would be in order lol if it's possible to make that and make it easy to do when you are putting up your post....

Of course THIS idea would be perfect for that . What exactly would it take to get that done here on mechspecs?

    Top secret stuff!

In the mean time; in order to help support Smurfy, and his projects, we've added a link to his mechlab up at the top of our page and I've even used it to put together one of the builds that I use. Posted it HERE so that people can get an idea of what is being done.

I've used this mechlab before. Love the idea of it! I'm not a fan of the color or presentation but the functionality is awesome! Too bad you couldn't get Smurfy to bring it over to MechSpecs and run the mechlab here.

Perhaps you could find a programmer who would build something like this for you until PGI builds their API?

Oh Screencap screen cap thats a great idea :D I should do it like that lol .

If you could do something that takes a screencap of your smurfy and uploads it to the forum that would be great to ....

If he could get it to export as an image then people could paste it into the image BBCODE. I host my own images on one of my two servers but will have to think very carefully about hosting everyone's stuff all the time due to bandwidth lol

Thanks man, I´m hoping Michael likes it. Now on to try to convince my Clan to have it in our forums... I´ll contact you if I convince them

I'll see what all they did at 1stRR and input a BBCode similar so that people can use that format if they wish.

Beats having to host screenshots that is for sure!

Would be nice if ALL the data could be incorporated but I understand bandwidth constraints can be a factor sometimes.

Thats true. would be nice to pull an image of the whole build instead of a tooltip but .... Hmmm I will definately use this format though hehe.

The guys on Robinson said Smurfy is making a vbulletin plugin. I'll wait till that is available since it will be drag and drop easy.

Vbulletin Plugin? What dose that mean just easy to implament on the website ? Or dose it add other features on the front end (for us user people) ?

Yes, it means that it is simple and easy to implement on the site. Drop in the plugin, activate it and poof then it should take care of all the backend authorizations that Smurfy requires to utilize the mechlab/display info.

Do I need an authorization code or anything for it (oauth etc)?

Received the following error (vB 4.2.0) on import.

no, you need no authcode, this one does not use the api at all, (like the other forums extension).

I updated the version hopefully this one works, if not i need to check with a friend about an license for vbulletin.
