Grinding through the Victors and couldn't decide on a build for the 9B until I tried this out for shits and giggles: I don't have all my basics unlocked for the 9B yet but this loadout is working well so far with a number of 700+ damage, multi kill rounds. For a 50pt alpha it is a simple but thus far effective loadout. Those who want more staying power can simply swap a JJ or DHS for another ton of AC20 ammo. I'm not terribly concerned about XL engines in these as the overwhelming majority of deaths are from CT destruction anyways. Pros: Jump jets AMS Max armor Very manageable heat Damage rapidly increases as you close on target Cons: XL Wish it had room for a couple medium lasers for backup I think this is the build I may settle on for the 9B until I get the 9K to master the Victors.
well if you want more laser power then move that DHS from your left arm into one of your torsos (pref the right one for crit padding) and remove a JJ or 2. Victors dont need all 4 JJ or even 3. 2 is essential but more than that is luxury. aside from that this is a pretty damn solid build. Only thing is that this build can be done on ANY victor variant so it doesnt utilize what the 9B has to offer. Although the 9B doesnt really offer anything of great value that other victors cant do better. Theres no way to utilize the 3 ballistic hard points without screwing your heat or payload. As such, this makes this mech a smaller version of the 9S. 3/5 because it can still kill but not quite as well as what all the other victors can do.
LOL I don't have 4 JJ, just 2---I forgot to add the SRM ammo, haha And I know what you mean, the 9S and 9K are both better than the 9B but I was simply looking for something that works for this until I can put it aside.
Exactly. I just dont really know what the 9B can do that actually gives it it's own personality. kinda sad really. More of a mech issue than any actual loadout or player issue. at least the 9K can use 6 JJ if you really wanted to.
if you really want that ML, you remove 2 DHS, and put in BAP and the ML. not to hot, but running dangerous. my favorite way to run. 4-5, simply for the any range weapons.
