I've been trying to master my Victors and found 9B to be the most painful of them. With 3x Ballistics on arms; there was just no meaningful combo that made use of all hardpoints while having satisfactory speed and survivability. It was like Cicada-3C all over again, why bother using this mech if I can't make use of these ballistics hardpoints? So I thought, why not ditch everything else and only use the 3x ballistics? After slapping on 2xAC5's and 1xAC2, the mech suddenly came to life. I could fit an XL360 and have space for 4 JJ with 10 tons of ammo space. With full armor and respectable speed (73KPH without, 80 with tweak); I could brawl, pull to range and keep hammering with the AC's. Plus, I could use the whole lefts side of the mech as a buffer, which combined with damage mitigation to legs through JJ usage, made the Victor very though to crack. It still lacked something though. So did some experimenting with various AC combinations and landed on this one. Other combinations are still fine, but this feels right in my hands. 2x AC2's give you long range DPS and suppression, while LBX10 gives you close range punch to finish off bigger mechs or chip away at lights. Don't worry about the sustained DPS, you top the heat scale only after 15-20 secs of continous barrage. Also I have yet to lose the weapon arm, even in matches where I was careless. So here it is; Weapon groups: [list type=decimal] [*]2xAC2 [*]1xLBX-10AC [/list] Other combinations you can try; * 2xAC5, 1xAC2 * 1xAC5, 1xUAC5, 1xAC2 * 2xAC2, 1xUAC5 for unreliable DPS madness. It doesn't mean much, but I did my second highest damage match with this build.
First off, WELCOME! Always happy to see new members coming into the community! Solid build and kudos for the SS for results! the VTR-9B is actually my favorite build, but, I have never run pure ballistic. I really like the look of it. Good heat efficiency and GREAT ammo stores. (maybe even a little too high) I'll give her a try later and post some more detail feedback.
