I gotta say, this tournament is really driving me nuts. For one, I'm getting into many groups where people get their kill and then hide, leaving the rest of the team to finish the job. However, I just got out of a match that I died because of thermal vision. We were on Frozen City day, and right as I go to peek over the crest into the trench, I hit a huge lag spike and I can't slow down. I go over the edge and get cored, when I should have just done a hit and run. I'm sick, with no voice and a sore throat, so this is a very bad tournament for me.
At least I capitalized any win but 1, where I have like 5 kill opportunity but no, just couldn't land the last hit.
2 out of 3 counting for me now... gg. You know what works REALLY well in this.... Mist Lynx .... not kidding. ERPPC poptarter and quad erml. Not poptarted for ages of course so am very rusty but 2 kills/multiple assists in each match and survived. Battles are dominated by heavies and assaults.
0/3 for me right now PUG dropping.... Too many missile boats and then "You must survive" bit has everyone really hanging back.
Ok, forget what I said. 1/ games are awful - LRM all the way, coward teammates, this is a nightmare; 2/ I get way less points than I thought; 3/ on regular games I should get much more: I have 1600 loss and 2100 death, so, assuming some conquest loss without dying, I suppose I don't have more than 1000 deaths on wins. I probably have way less, but I'm using the highest number for the sake of the demonstration. I have 2000 wins, that means I usually die half of my victories (again, the real number i probably much less). Today I died on 8 of 10 victories. Why? Oh, I'm sure you know why...
So far it has been the worst play experience I have seen in a long time. Boaters galor, cowards and campers. Can't get a team to move anywhere or do anything. They all so worried about death blobbing they move at the speed of the lemming leading them and leave assaults behind. Not very fun so far.
I've gotten 5 points during 4 hours of playtime this evening with mediocre rusty skils, It's possible, and I didn't really see that many boats. Things are probably going to be much worse in PUG-queue than group queue though.
You need to do 7+ Points each day then you have it. So don't worry if it doesn't work like charm. It's a bit frustrating if you got killed or can't win the round. But well -> War is Hell! and Shit sometimes happens.. sometimes (too) often. Got 5 Points already. Will try to get two more before i go to bed
Nope, 1 kill + 1 assist + 1 win = 1 pt. I have a cpl of wins with only assists, didn't qualify. http://mwomercs.com/tournaments
My 3L has been tearing it up...had time for 7 matches, the first 6 were all wins: This challenge is just MADE for the 3L...I'm cleaning up as people try to chase their 1 kill each round
I'm learning that my LRM boat doesn't have enough LRMs. This is an AWS-8T with 2xALRM15 and 2520 LRMs.
I'm just trying to get 1 more round for today and then call it quits... 7 will be enough... starting to get aggravated and hate the game again.
You know, I've quit a lot of games lately because they haven't elicited any emotional response. Too easy, too inconsequential, etc. So at least this one is getting us riled up!
Quitting time, 17 qualifying out of 36. Two loosing streaks of 5 games in a row, weirdly those happened in connection to dropleader being swapped due to crashed game client and other game modes were suddenly introduced. Typical drop formation, two leading laserboats (TBR-C, BJ1-X) and a CPLT-C1 (2x LRM15, 3x MLAS & TAG) with a AWS-8T companion (2xLRM15 & 2x LPLAS). We had 3 more in our group in a secondary lance for the first ten-fiften drops then they had to leave. We felt the challenge was relatively fun, there were some stupidity with overcautious behaviour (everyone trying to be a at the rear of the formation) and LRM nonsense but that was kinda expected in these challenges. Mostly we had good games, could be because we pushed the enemy LRM boats and didn't stand off. We were a fairly fast lance, 70-80 KPH. The most hilarious point was in a win streak of five games, where in game #5 we had a routine of asking who hasn't got a kill yet and focus on stripping the enemy of weapons or legs. 3-4 mechs were left with open cherry red torsos to allow our lance or teammates to get a kill.
