    Anyone have any recommendations?

My Lacie 1TB external drive is on its last legs... in fact I have left it shut off in case the next time I power it up is the last time I'm able to do so... I've got about 800gb of movies, music and family pics on there of my son etc.

Anyone recommend a good external storage device? I think most are in the 2tb range now days?

I'll second that. If you're just using it for storage, and not for running games, then go for the biggest numbers you can and enjoy :D Seagate makes good stuff, there's also a Western Digital at the same size for $89 that I'd trust. Free shipping listed on both. There are some 3TB ones on Newegg that aren't much more expensive ($110 range, give or take), but for some reason a lot of them have reviews more around the 3 star level. Didn't look too closely.
