Updated my post a bit with 5 more games for the Catapult (added kills and assists) and 3 more so far for the golden boy. Unfortunately duty calls right now, so I will have to resume testing in the morning, probably in the hour leading up to the patch.
What i like to know most in your testruns, did you experience any real changes in hit detection? The last time i tried SRMs resulted in very similar scores like you have now, not really overwhelming. Actually quite disappointing. Although i ran a 5x SRM4 KTO-18 @600 Ammo & STD300 and usually got full hits by sneakattacks from behind (butt slaps). The average damage was ~100/100 missiles shot away, where i expected double as much. So i assume 50% of the hits simply weren't registered. How was it in your recent testruns? Had similar impression? Did you also make full hits or were there a lot missshots included? Would be important to know than only seeing the numbers. For the new Patch i expect ~200 damage/100 Missiles (Full Hits at
Except if you play Atlas vs Atlas face hug, I think you over estimate your accuracy. From my experience (just feeling) the hit detection is right now (before patch) way better than few months ago when I stopped to drop in SRM boats. At least I do not have fully unregistered salvo anymore.
Exactly the same impression i have! I hope the New Patch fixes this even better. Inconsistent hit registration is not viable enough.
Looking at the scores I see definite trends towards higher damage when I shot up slower mechs. Granted, aim is easier but it also supports the multiple explosions frame delay bug. Faster mechs is thus a bug exploit? Ban all light players! Very interesting evening ahead, guys.
Allright. This evening i take out my Kintaro as well and post some scores too. I'm really interested to see if they could fix it completely. Would be awesome. Edit (After-Patch Test): Some SS but don`t remember how much missiles left i had when i got killed (most times lol), but can confirm SRMs ARE more powerful than before! 5x SRM4 Full Volleys at a Cicada in the face and it popped away. Same with Ravens... for bigger Mechs i needed ~4-5 Volleys. In the games I played, I also noticed that SRMs seemed to register better on slower mechs, however, I had a good deal of shots on motionless mechs (powered down from overheating) where very few SRMs, if any, registered (Crosshairs turn red/damage registered on enemy). I hope this patch coming up soon helps, I'd like to do more than ~.5-1 damage per missile. Finishing up the few Golden Boy games in a bit.
Just finished my final 2 Golden Boy games. Patiently waiting for the update! I feel like by the last 5 matches with each mech I was able to remove most of the rust from my SRM skills I wish I recorded that last Golden Boy match, it was pretty fun! I'll see you all after the patch! Edit: Also... I am very saddened with the ping recently. I don't know why it's around 100 now, it used to be around 50, then recently up to 80. I'll have to call ATT.
I'm not really collecting meaningful data, but I jumped in my zombie Cent just to get a feel of SRMs in the current state. I got a full srm18 salvo off in the back of a commando changing it from open and orange to open and dark orange :'D I can't wait for the update!
Well, I updated the game, and I was able to jump into 2 games in my Golden Boy... but now I'm failing to find a match. I was really hoping to do my 10 in the GB, and then my 10 in the Catapult, just like last time, but after about 5 "Failed to find a match" messages, I'm taking a break. I did some other fun drops in my lights/heavies/assaults, so I either have bad luck or the mediums are (currently) over saturating the match maker. Yeah, I dropped a few times but got torn to shreds by light packs in Conquest and Skirmish modes. I will delay testing until they get things more stabile I think. It's time to go sleep anyways, they finished the patching fairly late my time.
Playing my 10th game (well 11th, my 10th was a horrible game where I had a total of 4 missles fired, for 2 damage after getting double headshot by two Spider 5Ds with ERPPCs... :/) I'll update soon. I also think the new matchmaker has been broken, as the last few matches I have dropped in have had 4+ heavy mechs. Also, first impression is that it helped a little, as I seem to have more games where I feel less cheated by hit detection.
KTO-18 w/ 4x SRM6+A, 1x SRM4+A and an XL295. No lasers. No Air/Arty strikes. Just pure unadulterated SRM love!
Slight hitch today in my Catapult testing. A big fan in my case is dying today and we get a heatwave starting, it hit 92ish Fahrenheit (because I'm in the US, and we don't know what Metric is ) today, going up throughout the week, so I'm holding out on MWO for a day or two while my replacement arrives. I ordered one last week, and it should've been here by today, so I'm crossing my fingers! I did get my 10 matches in for the Golden Boy though. The results don't necessarily look spectacular, but besides the obvious great game from Chattahah, I also think they are registering more often. People seem to die now to SRMs, and the SRMs + Artemis are pretty darn awesome (I played around in my Cent for fun)

I know, Blagg. Hitting 900 is FRUSTRATING! (in the best way) I didn't have any energy weapons or consumables. I will reload that KTO-18 with SRM28+A, 2xMLas and a strike or two. I'll get that 1k.
