Hello I like to post all 3 version of my thunderbolts. I have to say I took me a while to personalized em and to be happy with all builds. Whole idea was to create highly mobile tough mech and to make every variant different enough to keep em all and be happy with all of them. 5S is best all arounder with 2x AC5 and ERLL its have best flexibilities in combat ranges and heat independence.
wow this is a monster build. First trip out I had over 1000 damage. I'm not an AMS fan, so i'm running mine this way:
Wow, this is the first build in the TDR-5S that I'm absolutely digging. Tried some 3xLLAS chainfiring earlier but that didn't cut it, and while I usually play brawler builds I also didn't really like the SRM+MG+ML combo's that much. yet, this punches hard at range and even more deadly close range. 511 damage first match, rest of the team except the LRM stalker I was spotting for had 150 or less (so you can tell how hard we lost that match). I'll be keeping this in my garage for a while! (Also to practice on my arm-mounted ballistics aim :S) I did find I almost ran out of ammo quite easily, you might consider putting in another ton or 2.
This is what I have been rolling lately but haven't posted it up: Obviously if you want more ammo, you can lose the AMS. I find it's just about right. I prefer the 4x MLas vs the 1 ERLLas. But it's similar enough that I'll tack it onto this post. Few things about this chassis - XL engines aren't really good. I also find that Thunderbolts tend to get stripped fairly easy. Apart from that though, it has fairly high armor and the 2x AC5's pound it out.
You have so many slots left! With FF and no AMS you can shoehorn in a STD300 engine increase ammo and increase AC5ammo to 7 tons (210). Also you an swap MLs in torso for MPLS if that's your thing, keeping the STD280. With FF and keeping AMS you still have 1.5 tons to spend on armor or engine size (get a STD290) etc. In any case, I think I'd remove AMS and .5 tons of armorsomewhere for 1 DHS and 1 ton of ammo.
