Whilst compiling the ridiculously long list of which mechs I'd like to see in MWO, I came across the Sagittaire assault BattleMech. 95 tons of all-Energy devastation. As MWO doesn't have any 95 ton mechs yet, this is my interpretation, using the Stalker chassis as a base (naturally). With only 2/3 of the Sagittaire's total compliment of hard-points, I had to improvise with the armament. Long range fire-power is provided in the form of an ERPPC, backed up at medium ranges by a pair of LLas. A LPLas and two MLas round out the arsenal at close range. A maximum rated engine and 15.5 tons of armour allows the mech to close quickly with the enemy, weathering any incoming fire as it does so. While the build lacks the Sagittaire's Targeting Computer or Jump Jets, it does have an AMS module for protection against enemy missile systems.
All in all i like this guy on paper. I cant help but feel like this mech is a lil confused atm though. It seems like this guy can do decent damage but never be a star player on a team or get the kills. Although the alpha is pretty good, in general this guy will heat up too quickly to properly dish out the damage he needs to stay alive when in mid-close range. And given that most of his firepower is in lasers, that means a lot of his damage is going to get spread all over the place with torso twisting and what not. 3/5 for being a good build, but not as effective as i feel he could be.
I've also been very interested in trying to build a Stalker based on the concept of the Sagittaire. Usually I find myself compromising a lot more, though. 2xPPC, 2xLL, other weapons as able. It'd be nice to refine this idea a little more to see if something good comes out.
