If I am cool I nuke close targets for 88 damage (enough to 1 shot some mechs) otherwise I use it as a second line fighter. Sticking to the 4 medium lasers and SRMs for close in brawls you still get massive firepower with good heat (43% cooling) then back to your PPC for mid to long range engagements where your SRMs can't reach (38% cooling with Lasers and PPC). For very long range fights you can spam your PPC quite easily for almost a minute (69% cooling PPC only). The trick to this mech is to break down your fight into 3 arenas. Over 360ish meters PPC only, 270 meters to 360 meters PPC and MLas, below 270 Meters SRM and MLas only unless completely cool (< 20%) then you can use your nuke which will take you to about 60-65% before switching back to Mlas and SRMs. Nearly cored a Thunderbolt from 100% at 120 meters with a single alpha. 1 follow-up shot from a single SRM6 finished him. By request. Its the Big Mouth! Not a very high scoring game but everything was dying too fast. Still gives a good feel.
holy sh*T! What an I*nSane Alphafirepower! Despite the low Smurfy Cool Efficiency, you just need max. two Alphastrikes to kill any Enemy. If it only had Artemis.. Damn, need to test it! my first thought to find a build to compete with yours would be this:
Thanks Blagg Hopefully Michael will post the video soon in the user section then you can see it in action. It nearly tore the shoulder off an Atlas with 1 shot and the only reason it didn't is because we were both moving and I couldn't get a good bead on it. Another shot completely stripped an assaults front armor off with 1 shot. Using Smurfy I found that the Alpha heat from both your mech and this one are roughly the same. The ghost heat from the large lasers and 4 SRM 6's equals about 76% of your cooling capacity per alpha. And this one its 74% because the only ghost heat is the SRM6s
Wow, sounds like your testround was a mindblast! If the Alphaheat for both are similar, it's only a question if ya wanna snipe with Double PPCs at a bit more distance (but with limited min.Range!) and finish off Targets below 270m, or if ya wanna have constant LLas.beams at Mid Range. I think both builds have their strengths.
Oh they definitely have their advantages. Give you an idea...I only hit 5 mechs before the match ended and still walked away with over 600 damage.
hmmph, what do you think, is it better to have a 88 Alpha-Damage for two Shots = 176 Damage, or something lower but enough Cooling to have 3+ Shots? Let's look at this build: No Ghost-Heat! 64 Alpha-Damage for three Shots = 192 Damage. The Trade-Off is clear: You need time for the third shot, so probably taking more enemy-counterfire in the meantime, but at least not OH so fast.
