So just in case people aren't checking the MWO main page, it seems there's a challenge to win a free mechbay by getting 20 kills this weekend in a Lyran mech: http://mwomercs.com/news/2014/08/914-steiner-challenge-win-mechbay Also mentioned way at the end of the page, though, is a note saying that every Lyran mech is currently on sale for 35% off. I went ahead and picked up a bunch of Victors to screw around with while I'm waiting for the clan mechs to become available for c-bills.
Amusingly there are a load of assaults on that list I'd not bought as was saving c-bills for outfitting clan mechs (that turned out to be trivially cheap to outfit) so time to spend.
I may pick up one or two of the odd versions that I haven't got yet. I saw the sale yesterday when I fired up the PC, just home after a week traveling. 2 + 3 kills already done in a TDR-9S. I can't believe ppl saying it was a bad mech. I like it a lot.
i am near about to quit this game, no matter how much i already payed for it i'm trying to get into matches, no matter what class i chose the matchmaker searches for 5min+, canceling and search again doesnt help, in 6 games i had 2 client crashes (when i started 6 months ago i had like 1 crash in a whole week) and 1 game disconnect where all mechs all of a sudden stop moving... and not to forget, the quality of the player base sunk into a black hole... i dont have problems with trial players not being good but i see clanners or whatever else playing so damn bad i just cant get the fun anymore... the only way to have some sort of fun is 12man pugstomping which is not what i want to do.... frustrating these days, just frustrating
Same boat. Clans were cheap to outift and you get solid earnings from them so I bought 9 mechs I didn't have (and never wanted). Went from 100m to 18.6k and I still have 3 out of 9 to outfit  I'm more perturbed by leveling mechs I don't like with loadouts that didn't tempt me to buy them in the first place as I picked at least 3 of the other variants before them... I drew the line at buying the newer locusts, though.
9S is good ... some of the others not great. Yeah LT that is sort of my problem too... I really couldn't mentally justify the cost to buy/outfit the mechs before as i didn't like the setups I could pick...... Its time for me to level awesomes and battlemasters though as at least I get some incentive to get kills rather than just feel I'm punishing myself. Note I won't be leveling the locusts this weekend though....
We're like women with their shopping and sales, Remarius. "I didn't need this, BUT it was 35% off!!" At least my reasoning is that I'm only 8 mechs away from owning every non-hero/champ mech and then I can say I beat the game. Hopefully I can then play the backlog of single player games I haven't touched in a year.
He he, you'll beat me as I set myself a max to play each day to keep things stretched out so my playtime has dropped since clan mechs came out. Just bought: AWS-8Q AWS-8T AWS-9M BLR-3M BLR-3S LCT-1E COM-3A Haven't even looked at fits yet but that leaves me with 7 standard and 1 hero mech left to buy and master after those. Not that I've done the Summoners or Timberwolves yet either thinking about it.
Correction... I also have 3 locusts I've never even loaded into mechbay. They will be the very last set of 5 mechs I level.
An event like this is always great joy. 6/20 now. Me finger is tired. Me need rest. And all that C-bills piling up when you are not looking at the numbers. Love it. Now, I cannot make up my mind which sale mech to buy, choice choices!!!
Guh. Took me a bit, but I got it. My choices were a bit limited and I got a fantastic amount of assists, but everyone else got kills. I was really wanting a new Mechbay, even better 'cause its free. Only problem is now trying to figure out what to fill it with. I'm primarily a light pilot, but I got a BJ-1 a while ago, a BJ-3 to skill out the 1, and a GRF-1S to try my hand at LRM-ing. I've been reconsidering getting some 'mandos as they aren't completely outclassed like they used to be and SRMs seem fun. Are they worth it? Or would be be worth more to get the 3rd BJ and elite them out?
third bj... elite makes a huge difference. once elited, you can sell off the 2 you don't want if you're short on mech bays and don't want to buy any.
Here is the complete Message: Must-Buys: Banshee BNC-3E Cataphract CTF-3D JagerMech JM6-S Jenner JR7-D Shadowhawk SHD-2H Stalker STK-5M Victor VTR-9S the Rest is a Matter of personal Taste imo. btw what is the Hunchback HBK-4PC3 ???
Managed to miss somehow that there were 3 other mechs on sale that I didn't have... STK-3H STK-4N STK-5S Outfitted the 8 assaults but ignored the 2 lights. Started 123,529,527 Now 34,413,888 That's even after about 8 games. Not good.
Bought and outfitted the Awesome 8Q 8R and 8T, and loving every minute of it. Got mainly all of my 20 kills in the 8Q and 8R
Wow that was awful and not helped by the 4 group matches with almost no xp, no damage or kills when we were face stomped each time. Almost every mech I launched on just nipped into cover and let its radar module break my lock. AWESOME AWS-8Q: 5 matches 6 kills AWESOME AWS-8T: 8 matches 7 kills AWESOME AWS-9M: 3 matches 2 kills BATTLEMASTER BLR-3M: 4 matches 2 kills BATTLEMASTER BLR-3S: 2 matches 3 kills Found some mechs I like, got a free mechbay and added lots of xp to 5 new chassis so good overall I guess.
[member=2826]Blagg Zear[/member] The part C3 normally identifies a equipment from the Jihad era, a computer that links mechs to their commander and share info in the linked part. As long as i know its not even close to the time in which the game is taking place EDIT: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/C3_Network My fault, its from the era the game is taking place in, but is not listed in the game, also the variant of the Hunchie that have it is, according to Sarna, introduced in 3069 by Word of Blake, the HBK-5P http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Hunchback
