    Star Wars - Spoiler Zone!
Here, here... we geek out about theories and what not.

    The obvious ones:

    1) Rey is likely to be daughter of Luke and some basic bitch. (cause whatever that breeder is she will never ever be as cool as Jade)

    2) Saber Staff is coming back!!!

    3) How close to the dark side will she fall?

    4) Traitor Boy is going to die keeping her from the light?

    5) Snoke is father of Anakin? (if you know what I mean)

#1 I agree. Luke had a pained look in his eyes. Maybe his metaclorians recognised hers?

#2 I heard they were going to do a two coloured one but it was scrapped as it didn't fit in very well. Something about Fire and Ice.

#3 close. Oh so close. You could see it when she was fighting Traitor Boy.

#4 Ren is to Rey what Vader was to Luke in terms of completing training. Yes he will die by her hand and it will be for her to complete her Jedi training.

#5 you must mean Palatines master. The sith that could create life?

Ehhhh... I'm thinking Rey might be Han and Leia's for one simple reason. The last two times they show Rey and Leia together, they are playing the score titled "Han and Leia's Love Theme." Moreover, the forlorn and passionate way Han looked at her 90% of the time... They do like the heavy-handed foreshadowing. And I love them for it! :D

However, I've been talking to a lot of people (IRL and Reddit) complaining that all they did was remake A New Hope. But WHAT'S WRONG WITH THAT??? That is a spectacular film and in this iteration, they actually had good acting! ;) I was blown away. The practical effects instead of CG, the story-line, the nostalgia, the character development, the roots being brought back, Chewie going BALLS DEEP after the bridge scene, god... So much awesome. I need to go see it again before surgery! EPIC!

The only big issue I had was when Rey was "realizing" her abilities while fighting Kylo... Who the fuck is in the middle of a fight and just sits there waiting while their opponent has a blank look on their face, being pushed back... The only solace I can find is that he was genuinely trying to align himself with his sister/cousin and/or she was controlling his mind as she did in the detention center... Meh. I dunno. Just seemed weird for Kylo to try to kill her, say "Come to the Dark Side." Then proceed to wait ten seconds as she "searched her feeeeellings."

    (darth plagueis indeed)

#6 Luke would die next film? Makes sense really (and to get rid of old actors stealing the light)

#7 Finn the human would be another choice to die for Rey's darkside journey.

#8 Chewie's bowcaster upgrades in deleted scenes?

    #9 Where is the Mando?

#10 Now, it is hard to imgine they can have a Starkiller II... That has to be like a huge discworld or dyson sphere...

PS: Adam Driver's acting *sigh* Though I like the idea of him thinking of Ren as a diluted light side hero... Which may yet be true in the end.

John Boyega's emotional scene is like PT quality... I know you are a stormie and all, but really... Talking about that bar scene and the other with Rey.

That Imperial Officer Huk is like a little punk... learn from Tarkin. Generally though, maybe they are trying to show that First Order does not have many of the great military leaders from the old Empire.

First off, i watched the movie twice. The first time i was absolutely flashed by the Visuals, the dynamical camera works (typical thing in J.J.Abrams Movies), the wall-shocking Dolby Atmos Surround Sound and the gigantic Starkiller Base and its unbeatable Firepower.. I watched the movie a second time in an even bigger Multiplex Cinema. Damn, i still was blasted away by the Visual FX and the Sonic Boom.

But.. and now comes the big BUTS!
    - it looks so grand, soo much like the original SW Trilogy (Ep IV-VI), but in the core it doesn't feel like a true SW Movie. How can i explain? I keep it simple - it feels like a Best Of from everything what i loved in the original SW Trilogy, but with the lack of all the flaws from good old greedy George Lucas. Instead if you take away the stunning visual and sound experience and only look at the script, damn the core has plenty of big Flaws, which i must headshake endlessly.

Just some few things to start ranting:
    1) The new Vaderboy - really? I really started to get convinced by his motivations ... but when he took off his mask and revealed his babyboy face - damn, the whole cinema started to laugh. Hahaha. Why did you let him reveal his face soo f*ing early, goddammit!??? All i thought was - this babyboy just needs to be bitchslapped (what then really happened.. OMG!!! Really? He's not badass, he's a f*ing Loser! No real Vader-Awesomeness. Soo disappointing)
    2) Wait a moment, its a Planet now, which can absorb a whole Sun? You gotta be kidding me. Not even George could think of such an absurdity even if it looks nasty epic. But on the other side - wait a moment, the Rebellion got plenty of time to build up a massive armada and all we see are just some few good old X-Wing Fighters like in Ep IV??! Where are the Y-Wings, A-Wings, B-Wings.. Some really new Space Fighters? Not true! The new Order could have changed a whole planet into a Ultra Deathstar, but the Resistance got nothing new? Really? What a ridiculous development after an epic Victory in Ep. VI (my most favorite part). This is so disappointing for me.
    3) Honestly, doesn't the movie feel like a SW Episode IV - A new Hope RELOADED? Like putting the contents into a shaker and remix everything, with just some few refreshing stuff like a hot chick as a Jedi Noob (finally), a "black" good guy as a main character (finally) and brand new 3D Visuals (finally), but so many deja-vus (and i don't mean the intended references/easter eggs, which were really good). I somehow expected more from the plot. But well, it's Disney.

There are more things i could rant about, but well, i better stop thinking about it. ;-p

Well, on the other side i have to admit, Disney/J.J.Abrams & Co. did an awesome Remix/Reloaded/Refresh Edition of the SW Franchise, so that this Universe can really finally finally can go on - many many thx man! To summarize it up: In my honest opinion - this is the best looking SW Movie ever, which will drive you crazy by all the flawed details if and only if you are a die-hard-SW Lore Fan.

I love the look and feel of the movie. The biggest disappointment with the prequels for me was the complete lack of the ability to get lost in the illusion because of so much CG that even the actors were thrown off by it. For me, the core issue with VII is the script, not the acting (basically the actors are all wonderful, even if the casting sometimes makes you ask questions). In this, I don't mean that it's A New Hope II: Newer and Hopier, I mean that it is BLATANTLY A New Hope II: With an extra side of Farce. Easter eggs are cool when they're blink and you miss it things, or don't otherwise take up story time. But there was SO MUCH visual name-dropping going on that it drew the focus away from the characters at bad times. It also felt like in cutting the film, they left in a slight levity overload. The Orig Trig was funny, but I watched it again to be sure. The tone is just so different when the people act like people and there's so much funny!

This pretty much got taken up to max when they're planning the assault. Again, the issue isn't that they basically said "hey, remember the Death Star? We're doing that thingy-thing, but more awesome", saw it coming and didn't mind. The problem is they LITERALLY said "Death Star? This thing. Port? Well, this bigger thing. Blowin' it up now!" I actually did a spit-take in the theater because I had seen it coming by that point but they were soooooo...post modern?...about it. They barely bothered with any jargon other than the line about destabilizing the planet. Sometimes a little explanation IS good, JJ, fer srs brah. It killed most of the suspense, and they didn't even use it as an opportunity for a double gotchya by letting the thing fire but mis-fire or some other last second complication to top the climax drama.

Still, it's hard for me to complain too much. "The script could have been tighter" is way better for me than "stop expositing what I can see for myself, you cardboard cutout!" Direction goes a loooooong way. Letting actors act like people goes even further.

Mark Hamill was much better in the Batman Arkham Games as Joker.. Absolutely brilliant his voiceplay. Awesome!

He could act so much more than just standing around somewhere on an irish island and looking absent-mindedly.

Question: Have you found out all the Cameo Appearances in SW7 ? e.g. Daniel Craig or Carrie Fisher's Daughter!
