When I click on the "Sort Threads by Rating" button, all the rated threads do show up at the top of the list, but they are not in order by number of stars. I'm not sure if this is intended, but I wanted to point it out in case it was not intended. This can be seen in the Direwolf builds forum, for example (let me know if it's just me experiencing this and I will upload a screenshot).

Before the migration I made heavy use of sorting by number of stars. I guess in an ideal world, I'd like to be able to put "more stars" above "fewer stars" and then, for builds with the same number of stars, "more ratings" at a given number of stars above "fewer ratings". It would be nice to see at a glance the builds that many mechspecs users have given 5 stars, positioned above a build that only one person has rated at 5 stars.

I don't know if this would be impossible or unreasonably difficult with the current system, but if there are other users out there who almost always sort their Amazon search results by user rating and look for products with plenty of good reviews I'm sure they'd be as thankful for this as I would.

That said, I want to say thank you all for this awesome site. Really, really good stuff.

Yes, the Sort Threads by Rating option is broken. This script, while very cool with some great features, is built on the premise that it displays the threads that are RATED THE MOST TIMES but not the highest RATED.

For instance, if you have a 1 star build that has been rated 10 times? That will be ranked higher than a 5 star build that has only been rated once. I am looking in to ways to correct this or even to potentially have a script made specifically for this site. I am shopping for quotes among the XenForo community right now.

Yeah I noticed this was borked too. I like the feature of forcing people to comment before they rate a build, and I think this is necessary, but the sorting is horrid.

I am working on finding a competent programmer to develop a custom ratings thread that can be used here. So far the only quote I have received is $250.00 for the plugin and 7 days of support. Needless to say I am still shopping around.

Upgrading this issue as SOLVED since I know the new Ratings Engine has this functionality built in and working correctly.
