A bit slow, and if you hate Gauss mechanics, do I have a 'mech you will hate. Other than that, you can change the case for a ton of ammo, if you like living dangerously or need the ammo, or a jump jet if you want. next to no heat issues. lights have a little advantage with you, but the A/C2 can do some work to them. can dance around to an Atlas' back to core pretty well. Also works with the 2D2.

    Case doesn't work.
Case is a module that prevents leftover damage from when a compartment is destroyed to transfer to adjacent component. However, if your sidetorso is destroyed, the crits of your XL engine are as well, so you're dead anyway before the damage mitigates.

Also: Gauss Rifles explode, Gauss ammo doesnt.

Gauss rifle with support weapons looks like fun but I think it'll be too heavy if those support weapons are ACs as well. Case gives you back 1 ton for a medium laser which i suppose is helpful.

Eh... then no case, needs another ton of ammo anyway, rather have that then just one medium laser.

and AC/2 ammo does explode, I know Gauss ammo doesn't.

I like the idea of shaking the guy with the AC/2 and suddenly dealing some kind of high pin-point "ghost" damage with the gauss (it also works on the AC/2+AC/20 combo).
But as far as I'm concern, when I'm shooting AC/2s I can't do anything else: I'm afraid I'll miss a lot with the gauss.

yeah this build would be better without gauss charge, but now it's hard to be accurate with both.

anyway, if one is still able to be accurate with both, I'd run it like this :

the best way to fire is both on the same key and release the gauss when sure to hit while suppressing with ac2. the problem is that a single AC2 isn't enough in most case for suppression fire

But using the concept, you can do something like this :

2x AC2 can suppress, a then a shotgun shot pops out. But either way, it lacks 1 ton of ammo in the AC2s this way, or in the lbx10 swapping the ammos.
