I got so much satisfaction out of this build that I decided to share it. This mech was born out of frustration at the current broken state of hitboxes (especially the spider and raven) and premade trolls dropping with them just to tease and exploit this issue. I got so pissed at being unable to hit reliably with ACs and normal SRM that I retooled my most used Shadow Hawk variant in a dedicated light killer : Comes with max speed available for a shadow hawk and full jump capability to keep up with most spiders and ravens. This thing eats Locust & Commandos for breakfast and makes short work of any other light stupid enough to engage you on a one on one fight. I'll try to post match results later.
This build is a pretty basic build that almost everyone has thought up. It is up there with the 6 ML Jenner as far as how simple the equipement shoices are. I did a few tweaks for my own personal use. Namely, I dropped to a XL350 engine to shoehorn in AMS. That was double convenient to me since, for me, 350 builds are more common than 360 builds, and I already have a XL350 Holy crap this build deals damage. I think you have it worded wrong when you say this build is a "dedicated light killer." Sure, it can tear up lights, but when I pilot this thing, I'm only dealing with lights about 15% of the time. The rest of it I'm targeting weak or isolated mechs. The combination of JJ and high speed mean you can be an effective harrasser too as long as you have a good approach and escape planed. As for post-match results, I have a few good rounds. These shots are of 2 of my exceptional rounds; Ive typically been getting between 350-550 dmg rounds. On a side note, that is my first time past 1k damage. http://i.imgur.com/qqPWPb2.jpg[/img] I think this is a very effective build. Just twist the damage around, play like a light (using speed and terrain to avoid fire and combat, escaping when it gets hot, etc.), carefully pick targets, and this build becomes a killer.
I don't think I've ever had this much fun in this game. Being able to jump on top of a building, power down, wait until a lance of enemy mechs passes and then power up to remove their rear armor regardless of their size and speed is a very satisfying experience. And to top it all off, you've got the big engine to get the hell out of there when they turn around. I honestly kill more assaults and heavies in this thing than lights, but I like being able to chase the little ankle biters down as well.
