My personal variant removes a ton each of Streak SRM and AC ammo, swaps the AC/5 for a UAC/5, and adds a Jump Jet and half a ton more armor. I find that I rarely live long enough to use up all the ammo anyway, since it's a short-range build and Shadow Hawks are not exactly durable nor super fast. I like the UAC/5 because it gives me better burst damage most of the time. Probability dictates that you should get on average 2-3 extra shots off before jamming each time. That's pretty good, and you can just run away while it unjams (of course, I get really sad when I get a jam immediately after the first shot). The one time I did use up all my ammo (almost, had one salvo of 8 Streak SRMs left), I did over 800 damage.
I've been using this exact loadout since some days and it's pretty beasty. I was just about to post this build when I found your thread. Great build. 5/5
Whaaa? I have gotten my XL Hawks down into the teens multiple times and commonly end matches with my health in the 20s. It's all about the JJ, twist and disruptive fire. I actually feel my XL builds in a Shadowhawk are more survivable for their agility. The STD variants may be able to lose a ST, but, if I can move quick enough to hop around cover, what does it matter? My UMAD brethren have commented a few times as they watched my half-a-corpse still bouncing around as enemies closed in on me, pelting me all the way. Anyway, great build, Blagg. I used an XL295 and threw a half ton of armor in the legs. I am ALWAYS getting legged in these things as I hop around like a mad buddy! Very good build. My only wish is that SHDs had the AC in an arm... Oh well, wouldn't be a Hawk then!
