I have been wanting to do something like this for awhile now, but have not had the brain power (two terms of nothing but programing classes) I have always been a fan of Draconis Combine. I wanted to start building historical or as close to historical as i can get mechs, and see how they far in game. So i am going to start with the SHD-2K. ">SHD-2D2 The -2K Shadow Hawk dramatically overhauls the chassis by replacing all original armaments, save the LRM-5, with a Donal PPC and extra heat sinks. This House Kurita specialty became one of the deadliest units of the Succession Wars. While this may be true of the Table top version of the Shadow Hawk, The MWO version is lacking. Changes made: With no Left Torso energy slot, I was forced to put the PPC into the left arm. I feel that this takes away from the zombie effect that it would have if there were a slot available. Armor: The K2 carries 82% of its max armor, it will be able to survive a few hits under the current meta. Weapons: With only two weapons, a pilot is limited. The LRM's will run out quickly, but with a pilot that is proficient with them will be able to provide support. the 2K will have to keep some distance so that it is able to use its PPC, but if in a sniper role on smaller maps he/she should be able to provide support also. Heat: with 17 SHS (53% Heat Effc.) Along with only two weapons heat should not be a problem. Speed: with a STD 275 the 2K can attain speeds of 81 kph, allowing it to quickly move position, or distance its self close enemy mechs. also with Jump jets allow it to get out of situations that mechs without would not be able to do. Conclusion: When it come to the 2K in the would of MWO, I don't think that anyone would pilot this configuration. when it comes to a role that this mech could play, support/sniper would be its niche. sometime this week i will put this to the test as i try it out and see what happens.
