Arms and legs are brittle compared to the rest but still an upgrade over the stock ammount of armor. AC 10 I find gives you a long distance punch that can still let you tangle with mechs above your weightclass when brawling. And for those that need more armor
This is my slightly modified version that I run. Has more armor (I jump alot, therefore need that leg armor) and I use the arms mostly as shields. I place the ammo in the STs, even though I know that it's stupid with an XL, but I've lost legs more than STs in this mech, and by the time I'm close to losing STs I'm either out of ammo, or close to dead anyway. It performs well at mid to close range.
Used this core build while taking the 2D2 to mastery. I'd describe it as less of a light hunter than you'd expect for an SSRM8 mech, the Streaks are more like some supplemental DPS that happens to make chasing lights less of a waste of time. I'd definitely stick to 45 AC10 shots, you'll dip into the third ton regularly in winning rounds, and even deplete it if the match stays a mid-range poke-fest long enough or you get to be last man standing. My exact variant was: Removed 2 DHS all for more armor. Occasionally hot, but manageable once elited, especially with a Cool Shot in sticky situations. Ended up with a 2.75 KDR, 1.4 WLR, 400~ damage per round, and that was with a real rough start in the mech. Hero rounds where I got through all my ammo reached up into the high 900s (no 1ks I think >
Ok so having dusted this off again and modified it some more due to the increase in ammo explosions I've been getting from legs this mech has carried to to currently 6th place for shadowhawks in medium verse the world and gunning for higher
This is a very good build for this mech. I don't normally like the ac10 much, but it really shines here.
