Wow, this is VERY interesting, I wasn´t looking forward to removing fraps files of matches that went bad (or saving those that went well), or forgetting to record particularly nice matches. Gonna give this a try
I did a quick test today (hadn't the time to do much because of the patch). On the positive side, the shadow thing is just awesome, I can't count how many time I made a fantastic move and didn't record. It also look pretty light on resources, I didn't notice significant fps drops. On the negative side, it's very limited on customisation and settings. Also, the image quality is kind of low, even on so-called "high quality".
Am I the only one with Shadowplay having problems detecting the game since yesterday's patch? (=> I can't record...)
I heard something in chat about it. Haven't experienced the problem myself, I still see the SP icon as long as I'm in full screen and not any sort of windowed mode.
Yesterday night I was able to record (including the mechlab). Today too at first, but after some time I noticed the icon was gone (and so was the clip I wanted to save, snif). Maybe it's related to the fact I alt-tab a lot when waiting for a game, but I did it yesterday too, so I'm afraid it's kind of random.
Exactly my problem and why alt-enter does not do the job. The old windowed client was handy: I launched, it turned and turned looking for a game, meanwhile I was doing my things and hop when it found a game it automatically switched to full screen game.
OK, fix found on the official forum that seems to work: in the option, change the default video option set to "full window" (what does it mean anyway?) into "full screen".
I think I gave that solution but a bit obscure here earlier as well [quote author=SubjectSeven link=topic=4419.msg36199#msg36199 date=1391616901] I heard something in chat about it. The fact is I was convinced to be in fullscreen, and not windowed. I always was in fullscreen, before they reseted some settings.
Digging the charge up sound for the Gauss. It's been THAT long since I've used it. I have Shadowplay (I think) installed as well as GeForce Experience as they both game with my 780 Ti SC but I have never used it. Maybe I should do some reading up on it?!?!?
But it doesn't sound like it does in the OP video... or are you referring to the new sound currently in-game?
I don't know what the new sound is in game. I haven't used a gauss in forever. Since the day they implemented that charge up BS. Ok I've set up Shadowplay for 30 FPS, 1080p, 15 minutes, and IN-GAME+Microphone but I need to figure out how to set the PUSH TO TALK option. I may run this in the background on my games; especially when I upgrade from 8gb to 16gb of ram as this will really allow me to just let crap run without messing with FRAPs all the time to do Mech Specs videos.
The mic is a toggle and not Push to talk, I find it handy because I usually have open mic but I can see why it could be a problem for people who are used to PtT. They only released a mic toggle in the last patch though and they're actively working on it. with the next GeForce experience update they might include an option for PtT. And yeah, especially the 'oh wow that was a good match lets save it'-option is unique and AWESOME.
I actually updated to the latest nVidia drivers just to get the latest Shadowplay. If you have PTT in TS3 does Shadowplay pic up on your mic or only when you PTT in TS3? I never have an open mic.
No Shadowplay uses it's own microphone settings, which are not set in TS3. That's also why it picks up my keypresses when I activate it, while in TS3 my threshold is put high enough for an open mic not to be annoying. In the same way it will not me Push to talk but rather click once to talk and click again to disable.
Ahhh okay, I'll wait until they add a PTT feature into Shadowplay before I start messing with it. Having an open mic, for me, is counter productive.
