I am absolutely going to get the Death Knell. From the remaining two I already own YLW and I do love this little assassin-style mech. Although I used the recent 2x XP weekend for finally leveling CDAs I am absolutely not sure about the X5. For me it looks like a bigger JR7-D, but without the JJs. Can anyone please give some additional feedback on this one?
Oh! Two more hero mechs for the collection. I already have the X5. Are commando's worth getting if I've already got Jenners, Ravens and now Locusts? The Wang I will definitely be picking up... love the look of it and how I've seen it play on the battle field.
The new TDK is deadly... It may be small but it is SUPER heat efficient, now one of the fastest mechs in the game AND has enough armor to chew up Locusts with the 4x MLas?!??! What is not to like!
TDK is finally becoming useful, so this is a well-timed sale. YLW is a classic. I still loathe him (for bumping my precious Cent-AH), but I might just cave. X-5 is cool, but I can't see myself getting into Cicada.
@ Aylek The X5 has a bit more tonnage than a Jenner and goes almost as fast with the XL340. You can go with 4 MLas and 2 Streaks or 2 SRM2s and it is a very effective fast medium. Downside is that it is bigger than a Jenner and thus somewhat easier to hit. When you know Jenners, you may also know that heat is an issue as the XL340 with the armament leaves not much room for extra DHS. Do you guys recommend the TDK? I have 2375 MC ATM and I'm a bit reluctant to spend on it. Couple reasons why it's preventing me from buying it. 1) I'm cheap, don't have a working income and already spent around $50 in this game. I value mech bays a lot more than other commodities so I'm slowly spending on mechbays while buying mechs. TDK cost roughly a little bit more than 4 mech bays. 2375 MC can net me almost 8 mech bays (short of 25MC ._.) 2) TDK can be, sort of replicated, with the COM-1B like with this build I just made. http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=26&l=3f0a4752ea8e05248d3bbb8a1cb008dc0781221d 3) I already have the YLW and the X5 from the Working Medium sale from 3~months ago. I do love my Wang because, yay for centurions (mastered YLW and CN9-A with CN9-AL elite, thinking about buying a CN9-D) and dat AC/20 and high agility with arm shield play style. Yay for zombie mode. 4) Light mech usually means light weaponry, armor and other stuff so you don't often get high damage battles. Wait, does damage or score matters more for credit making? 5) Lack of diverse hard points 6) Not interested in buying/leveling Commando chassis ATM. The only thing going for this is obviously the extra energy weapon and 30% C-bills earning but maybe there is something else that is unique that the other Commandos don't have. I already have the X5 and YLW for credit making, so I don't really think I need another. That said, my ears are open. I do value opinions so if you can convince me why the TDK is a "must-buy" I might consider. I might also be too skeptical so I apologize if I offended anyone but that's how I see things until I actually have a working incoming. :blush: Thanks!
ZeProme, It just depends. Do you love Commandos? do you want more C-bills? if you answered yes to both, buy the TDK. if not, but said yes to one, the don't buy it. You won't use it enough to justify it.
