My SRM builds for the Stormcrow were either overheating too fast or useless without jump jets. Then I remembered the success of my multi LRM5 build for my Griffin-3M. And did the same for my Stormcrow alternative configuration D: Why does it give so many kills? The spread of missiles is much lower on small launchers, many hit the center torso. The reload time of an cLRM5 is 3.25 - that of an cLRM20 is 4.75 . The streams of 5 cLRM5 shot at the same time can penetrate a double AMS. You use 2 modes, either all 5 at the same time, or chain firing. The first mode is used at the beginning of the game, when you are not sure if the locks you get are sufficient enough, but you might hit a nearby cloaked enemy. It is also used when you see too many AMS. The secound mode is used to shake constantly the cockpit of a big enemy, let him hear "INCOMING MISSILE" perpetually and giving him shell shock. With 2160 missiles you can keep them even contained, not daring to leave their cover. Be careful in late game, you might actually run out of missiles and then have no backup weapon. (375 dmg on average for you griffin, even its nice, its nothing special) for your build, switch the Head omnipod with the P version, remove some a ton of ammo, add an erMLas (or a tag)
As with IS, Clan LRM5 have low spread even withouth +A, if you take out the +A you get some tonnage for extra ammo/DHS and you can upgrade your Head Laser to cERLL. This is how I would run it: And after testing I think you can have less ammo.
I'm using the non (+A) version with a cERLL in the head and loving it. The red team, not so much. Thanks for all the ideas mates.
Been using this one, and really doing well with it (most of the time...), though I wish there was some way to get a TAG on it instead. I'm planning on trying out this version a bit later: Same number of missiles, but it will recycle a bit slower since the one LRM10 is in there. BUT, it adds a TAG, and puts the ERLL into the arm for sniping UAVs. One of my biggest hatreds is when I see a UAV, but the head laser can't do anything about it ><
