That FS9-A is one mech that can strike fear in my new CDA-2B(east). I tell you what everybody, you've gotta respect these mechs with the major boosts to pulses. Respect!

I agree with the Ilya, as well. I'm trying the 1xAC10, 2xAC5, 2xMLas build right now with it put am unimpressed by the new quirks. I do like the larger engine that this affords me, though. I think I'll go back to the semi-mobile weapon's platform of 2xLLas, 3xAC5s. That's one build my Jagers can't do better.

Will say that the quirk changes sealed for me how poor AC2's are nowadays. Been trying to run the DRG-5N with 2 ERLL and 2 AC2's and it just feels like you can't put down the hammer as enemy mechs just tank what you're doing and blap you as you can't really peep and shoot. The long range armament is theoretically really useful but to get the best out of that I need to be in a heavy standing well away from my lance......

Managed maybe 8 matches before swapping out but its potentially good maybe in the solo queue as a (slow) sniper.

I've actually had good success with the BJ-1 running dual AC2s on it. I find I'm able to drive the LRM boats into cover or to draw their attention onto me. That works well as the BJ-1 is always looking over some hill with its high-mounted weapons and then can just poke down and drop the locks with radar derp. I just had to remind myself that there is a large value in distracting targets to go along with some pretty solid DPS if they happen to be distracted by somebody else. They're definitely not weapons that work well by themselves, though, they need some supplemental weapon systems to really shine.

I guess the dragon might be harder to use them on as you'd have to play it like I play my Ilya and show them all of your mech to get those guns trained on them, and then it becomes much more difficult to just run away and hide. :/

Yeah, the BJ I can see it in as you also have the speed to reposition easily on top of the smaller profile and high weapon points. I used to use AC2's on SHD's and a CN9 which did brilliantly (pre nerf) but the DRG-5N's arms are so low you can't peep over things and unless you totally reveal yourself you can only use half your armament if edging out of cover tofire . I just found myself being bumrushed by TBR's each match... whelp. In my 1N I'd just rip them to shreds with focused fire. With the TBR hitboxes and lack of intimidation I just died painfully each time.

In fairness, a lot of that was having to engage closer in as I was with my lance so I lost my main advantage of having both weapons at 700m+ optimal with range 5 modules.

This just reminded me... Don't you wish we could have an AC2 cooldown module? I could stand for 10% more DPS from those things. Come on PGI... I promise it won't break the game!

Can somebody tell me why the BJ-3 with 6 energy hardpoints doesn't get a single heat reduction quirk? Man, I really hate the quirks on this mech. :/
