    PROTECTOR

Not sure how well an XL works on this guy yet, but someones gonna try it sooner or later. The idea is to keep both arms clear of weapons or ammo and keep them as strictly shield arms all the while you keep moving and blasting. Decent Firepower, best speed for an Orion, Heat efficient, Almost max armor but relies on ammo. The A/c5s and the LL give him decent stopping power at most ranges.

Since this guy is designed to move, hes going to run into issues with lights and thats why he has a LL over a PPC. And also with the new heat a PPC is just asking for too much for what it gives.

    Weapon grouping:
    1. A/cs
    2. LL
    3. SRM4s

Its really just preference man. The only reason my arms dont have anything in them is to help protect those XL side torsos as worry free shields. The OP build just values a little more survival over firepower.

I'd have to go with Leonhart's. The point of the XL would be to maximize your speed. This is a pretty slow mech over all. Milk every last kph out of it, if you are going to take that risk.

cant say if XL on this Mech is a good idea. I can imagine its similar to the Victor. Without JJs it affords more skill to avoid damage but could work. I will try it, when i have my own Orion in the near future..

You still have a lot critslots free. Downgrade to XL350 and use the slots for whatever - Heatsinks, Ammo etc.

nope, the whole point is to have max speed. And i know the crit slots are weird with everything being in the side torsos...but thats the whole point. Completely free shield arms to protect the XL. If anything, A little bit of armor could be reduced to fit in a CASE to help alleviate that.

:whacko: if you prefer that 2+ kph instead of extra cooling or ammo, so be it. Dont cry me a river if you run dry on Ammo.
