Hi @ all! Introducing myself as a new member. And kindly thank for the throphy i got: "You´re older"! Yes, i AM older than the average MWO Player, but still got my fun in the game. Been into the MW universe for at least ten years now, never played TT but all parts of PC MW and loved the novells. So right to the discussion. Recently we talked about "Good Games" in our unit. That brought me to think over what means "a good game" for me and i came to this: A good game (in order of importance) ..was won by my team ..i had at least one kill ..i did >500 dmg ..i survived ..i did no TK These points may seem simple for better players, but we had a hot discussion about it that night, as we were waiting for a match on Tukkayid. What do you think?
Welcome on Mechspecs. I have different view about "good games". In my opinion the main criteria is "was the team working well together?". Once this criteria is met I'm happy, doesn't matter if we lost or I died. Usually it means we dominated the other team, which is satisfying but not really exciting, or the fight was really close and intense, which is what I'm looking for.
Good games are close games, when each side deserves to win. Even better are those good games, if you are one of the ""match makers". And even if not, a good game is joyfull even in spectator mode.
like Football World Cup two of the best teams and it ends with something like 9:8 - both teams played great, but nonetheless there can be only one winner of the cup.
Yesss. How can i forget those nailbiters, 11-12, 12-11 or even 11-11. All those results make me forget my early death or my stupid actions.... And on the other hand will never forget the (very) few games where i was last man standing, legged, and with everything as red as can be. BTW, as i´m new here is there a thread for those stories ? Did not completely checked everything out here.
Very easy,... Did my heart pound like the first solo pvp encounter I have had in EVE? If the answer is yes, than the game was not simply good but great. Had a game yesterday where the enemy rolled over a lance of "Pilotes Ikunullus" so logically I already feared the typical waste of time stomp. Luckily however the remainder of the team was able to out brawl the enemy to 2 vs 4 numbers. Those 2 were me and some kind of light pilot. Badly damaged we were able to reduce the enemy numbers to 1,... But all that 1 had to do was stare angrily at us to blow up our smoldering remnants of mechs. We lost, but dang what a fun battle that was! EDIT Having reread the original question: In order of importance: -Did I have fun? -Did I contribute to the battle in a meaningful way -Did my actions add to the odds to achieve victory -Did I achieve a killscore that would raise me K/D ratio -Did I at least achieve a kill for my death
