Been running with a similar loadout to this. Don't have the cash for the XL engine just yet. Pretty fun and easy'ish to play. You can pretty much put all weapons in one group and hold the button down. Takes a long while to overheat. The dual AC/5's are basically like a fast recycling PPC and they work equally well brawling or sniping. BAP and SSRM are a huge help with those tricksy ECM lights. Been having 400-500 dmg matches with this. Probably won't top 1k dmg with this loadout, but it's still pretty effective.
I found an XL 305 engine on a mech I'm not really using at the moment so I switched the MPL's with ERLL's. Loving this loadout so far. Really ups the versatility and long range damage of this mech. As always with the Orion, it's a 2nd line support build. Stay under the radar and assist the assaults that can absorb more damage. And help chase away any lights buzzing around the behind enemy lines. Don't be afraid to snipe with the AC/5's along with the ERLL's. They have enough projectile speed that it's easy to hit targets even at 1000+ range. Advanced Zoom is a must with this build. And I use Advanced Sensor Range, too. My best round yet with this loadout completely overshadowed by my teammate above me. And we lost. Still over 700 dmg... not bad. I still had lots of ammo left, too.
