This is my current ON1-K build and so far its made a fine little brawler. The Orion is on squishy side for a heavy so positioning and cover is very important. The build also means you need to be pretty close to the action to get involved but the AC10 lets you take some shots as you close. The XL350 gives you some decent speed and good torso twist speed so you can at least try to twist away from damage to the CT. I group my weapons exactly as you would expect 1. 4x Mlas 2. 1x AC10 3. 2x ASRM6 My original variant of this build used an LB10 instead of the AC10 and added a ton of ammo. It played similarly and was basically a double barreled shotgun. In the end the AC10 is just a little more versatile than its LB counterpart.
I like the load out, but every time I see it, I kill it with side shots. it's just easy enough for me.
I got my left torso popped the first game I played with the XL and was pretty disappointed. It hasn't happened since thankfully.
With AMS instead Artemis + more AC10.Ammo: BTW: this is the same weaponloadout from http://www.mechspecs.com/forum/index.php?topic=3624.0
Most recent alternate build Trades 6kph and downgrades the AC10 to an AC5 for a pair of large lasers wich personally I feel this balances out the build pretty well and gives you engagement options at almost all ranges. The Large lasers especially can keep you out of a brawl which is a good idea for an Orion. I've had quite a bit of success with AC5s recently and in this build it provides a way to keep up the pressure when things get too hot but its definitely no AC20. This is also my first 4 weapon group mech and I still need to adjust but its honestly not that bad. 1. 2x LLas 2. AC5 3. 2x ASRM6 4. 2x MLas
