I have never used flamers to any effect since closed-beta so I thought I would use one of my current mechs to give a flamer heavy mech a try. Thought is to brawl with a heavy/assault and flame it to overheat while pelting with the LBX10. Also a decent crit seeker. Silly build, but here it is!
I would love to run that, but as far as I can tell Smurfy doesn't compute the heat generation of flamers correctly unless you look at the "Weaponlab". Heat efficiency says 91%, but you would actually over-heat in about 11-15 seconds of continuous fire. The goal here is to over-heat the enemy right in his face while holding down the AC or LBX trigger until one of you falls. Correct me if i'm wrong about how the flamer heat is represented in Smurfy. Thanks!
