I used the S Variant ^^ but this can be resembled with every other variant as you might know Also including [glow=Blue,2,300]20 Double Heatsinks[/glow] for more Laser Action AMS Overload Module highly recommended!
Nice addition for the 2AMS. Other slight alteration is just +2MGs in their place. Some of my best Nova games have been using the small lasers. You just have to pick the location you fight in, hope for a little luck in enemy make-up & map selection, and go to town burning off legs or shooting out rear torsos.
The cooling difference by dropping two small lasers seems disproportionately significant. With basic skills unlocked 12 smalls in one volley on forest colony was about 82%. Dropping two smalls, adding two dhs, and alpha striking on the same map was generating about 42-43%. With the arms alternating fire this sustains fire for quite a long time.
whoever the hell is dumb enough to alphastrike with 12 lasers at the same time fire either arm on its own and you end up with 50% less heat edit: i changed your build to something i would prefer (-MG, -0.5t ams ammo, +1DHS and 4 mlas instead of slas):
Who the hell is dumb enough to think I was advocating alpha striking all the lasers? I just thought it interesting that removing two small lasers had such a drastic effect on the alpha strike heat. Regardless, I went afield of the OP's apparent intent when I posted a build without AMS in a 'Missile Catcher' thread. Whoops.
sorry if it sounded a bit offensive, didnt mean it its just that most nova mechs/builds dont like the use of the alpha strike button =)
And to all rocket scientists here who want to post alterations of my build WITHOUT AMS - make your own threads This NVA-S was built for supporting on the battlefield always staying near your guys.
It's just a matter of time During the process of grindig xp in this variant u will surely get some good brawls
well, on long range maps you just have to adapt, i used to play my kto-20 with 4xmplas 3xstreak and i managed a 1.1k round, its all about patience, and being triggerhappy myself i know the problem these days i run into the same problem with the srm24 adder
I think a bit part of it is that I'm far more comfortable up close when I know I've got the speed to control the engagement on my own terms...which generally means when I'm in my Jenner or my Ember. When I find myself in these slower mechs (comparatively, that is), I like to have the longer range of ERMLs or a PPC to supplement the build...which is why I've stuck with one of the builds I posted earlier Not knocking this build at all...I just don't think I'm comfortable with nothing but SLas in a mech that goes under 150KPH these days
