Stiiiiiiiiiiiiiill waiting... I ordered it on the 19th of last month and I'm stiiiiiill waiting. I am thinking about canceling my order and telling NCIX to go fuck themselves then find another place that takes Paypal and I can order from. I could pay cash if I HAD to but I don't think Futureshop carries these mice... (nope... just checked... their mice are more for non-gamers than gamers)
My order SHIPPED!!! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. That was 3+ weeks of waiting but at least the new mouse will be here and I can begin working on good stuff!!!!
We will see how long it takes to get here LOL... It supposedly shipped yesterday but the tracking number they gave me isn't in Canada Posts tracking system. WTF?!?! I'll have to call them later and chew them out a little bit. As long as it is here this weekend I will be happy. Then I can set up all my AC macros and stuff LOL
So I've been playing with it for the last couple of hours. Nice! Soooooooooo many buttons to get used it can be confusing. Especially since I have sort of remapped what buttons do what. My fingers still want to use the thumb for zoom when that is now my right hand ring finger etc and the thumb now does arty and airstrike. One thing I do like is that on my RAVEN profile (Profile #1) I have set the button for my thumb to do both Coolshot AND UAV depending on which module I have installed. It will attempt to do both regardless which is cool cause I can keep the same profile but change my loadouts and it will still use it when needed. What I don't like is that the programmable Macro can NOT be looped?!?!?! I couldn't find anyplace to set macros to loop which kinda pisses me off LOL I even wrote the company and said "Yo, you need to make it so you can loop your macros"
I put my missilebay doors, override and heat vision on the buttons. Arty and air are already close to my movement keys. Is there a way to macro toggling heat/night/normal vision? I've never made a macro before so I'm a bit confused. BTW Grats on finally getting the mouse glad you're enjoying it!
There IS but it would require two buttons to do it; one for heat and one for night vision. I have been thinking of doing it by binding the weird left and right part of the mouse wheel since I haven't used those yet. You know it is a 4-way scroll wheel yeah? So bind left to night and right to heat or however you want. Simply to into the Configurator and select the BIND option for those two buttons then bind whatever letters you have them set to. I received feedback from Sharkoon today about their macro software (about not being able to Loop it)... This is kinda weird since I believe their SKILLER Keyboard allows for looped macros.
Ah, I use those often to adjust DPI quickly on the fly as the DPI button is hard to reach for me (i prefer my mouse to be more or less twitchy depending on range and weapontype). But I can probably use the DPI buttons then to bind night vision. There's no way to cycle pressing H N N on one button?
Not yet. Their software is only Ver 1.0 and, as they said, they may or may not ever update it. You could always write them and suggest they make Macros loopable as well as add an option to toggle between a couple of keys. Press Once: H (thermal) Press Twice: N (night vision) Press Twice: N (normal) In fact the more owners that DO write them to suggest this feature the better chance we have of them actually implementing it. As for DPI, I have never had a mouse that does this level of DPI before. Holy shit batman!!! I'm still trying to figure out the meaning between the light and the settings... Profile 1 (my Raven) is set to 2000 DPI but the third light is lit up on the indicator. I actually dial that down to the 2nd light when in the Raven in game and then click it back up while surfing the web.
The lights represent the different DPI settings. 4 lights - 8200 DPI 3 lights - 6400 DPI 2 lights - 4000 DPI top light - 3000 DPI 2nd light - 2000 DPI 3rd light - 1200 DPI bottom light - 600 DPI I tone down sensitivity and snipe at 600/1200 DPI, play regularly at 4000-8200 DPI (later is only really noticable in lights due to torso twist speed). Also: sent a message With all the people that own a Drakonia Black now thanks to Blagg it could probably happen
Hrmmmm interesting!!! Thanks for the lesson... I play my Raven at 1200 DPI then as that is easier at range to snipe with the ERLLas. I find even 2000 DPI is a bit too twitchy. I surf the internet at 2000 DPI as that is a comfortable speed to scroll/point/download porn etc. I will probably bump up the DPI as I climb into heavier mechs. More tonnage = more lights. Easy to remember. I always set the polling speed at 500hz though. I was reading that the higher that number the more the CPU has to poll your mouse to find out what it has done. 1000hz is very accurate but also more intensive on the system running it. Thoughts on that?
i haven't experienced any lag, and didn't know that about polling rate. I'm playing at 1000 Hz but I'll test the lower options. I would stick with a DPI of 2000 for heavies, as the mouse will outpace the torso twist and you will have twitchy arms. On close range light mechs like the JR7F I would put it on a higher setting. By the way, it's possible to have separate sensitivity for horizontal and vertical movement, you should try reducing Y-sensitivity, I found that it improved my aim
I actually have this profile set up on my Saitek Joystick... that I use for steering & throttle, but the macro function is much more advanced than the Sharkoon... I also have one set up to toggle through zoom modes with the module zoom at the end. By the way I will be writing a letter tonight, when I get home from work. It shouldn't take too much to get them to add this to their software... it would be great to have this sort of functionality on the mouse.
Agreed, as per discussed in the Drakonia thread. Having a 5 button mouse was great but it really limited what I could do with the mouse in terms of weapon groups versus functions. Having an 11 button mouse (and really only using 8 of them) means I have room to grow or scale as new things come in or my hand adjusts to new playstyles.
Sure its something very obvious but.... trying out the Drakonia Black after my mouse decided to start suddenly not recognizing its USB connection mid boss fight in ESO. Such fun not even being able to move my view or dodge... The Thumb button 3 (button 6 in the manual/software), which is normally set to double click in the Drakonia software, keeps coming up as mouse button 1 in MWO. Somewhat irritating as I want to use it to drop artie on people rather than fire weapon group 1 (MB1). Yes I'm a luddite and sure its something obvious but ... help please!
Logitech M570. Because there is literally nothing else. No, really. No one is making trackballs anymore. I can't stand mice.
Well, not binding it to double click.. It quite literally sends 2 mouse button 1 signals when it is, but you can easily select 'bind to key' in the mouse options software.
Yeah guessed that just not sure what to set the "bind to key" as. Whatever I have artie set to atm in MWO aka the "2" key?
