I think it's a good choice both ways. At one time I had a mouse that had like ~10 buttons and like some professional gamer summed it up, you will end up pressing the wrong ones at the most inappropriate times in reflex-based FPS games. They're good for MMO games though with binding commonly used macros and such.
i'm looking for a 6+ button bluetooth mouse at a 50 usd price range. DPI doesn't matter much to me because its not like i can move to a cell-size level of precision(1k dpi = 25µm already), although i'd like it in a medium-large(10~15cm) size range.
FYI, you might want to look into how DPI is used to control mouse cursor speed more than sensetivity. All of you native mouse speeds should be set to default (center location for windows). Then use DPI to control the speed of your mouse. Doesn't matter if you don't care, but adjustable DPI is very useful to remove mouse imput error/acceleration.
I called NCIX today to find out where my mouse was and why it hadn't been shipped yet? I was told that they didn't have any in stock. I was like "You took my money and processed the order when you didn't have anything in stock? When will you get more?" and he goes "Ummmm, I don't see an active order here. The product hasn't been discontinued but I don't see an order. I will call the rep who deals with that company to see if we are getting more. Can I ask you a question? If we can't get you this mouse do you have a replacement idea in mind?" WTF?!?!?!?!? "No. I paid for that specific product and I want that specific product. You already have my money. Make it happen".
Wow, that is some kind of service... Bad kind mostly. And its cousin the drakonia may have been discontinued, the drakonia black is pretty recent. Hope it all works out after all this trouble, I don't think any mouse is worth all this bs.
I've got a g9, I use it everyday at work, it's a solid piece of kit, 2x interchangeable shells weights and thumb buttons you can actually access , 3200 dpi, 1000polling reports. whats not to like !?
pffffff I'd almost consider canceling the order (tell NCIX to FO basically) and order it on amazon. They also have the old version, the regular Drakonia. I think it has a bit less DPI. http://www.amazon.com/Sharkoon-4044951013579-Drakonia-Black-Laser/dp/B00DNRN1DK/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1393939866&sr=1-1&keywords=drakonia+black But then there's the waiting paradox.
Sure, then I can pay like 72$ CDN instead of $49.99 CDN for it as it is a Japan import. That is probably what is taking NCIX so long as it is coming from Japan. If it isn't on their site by next week then I will bitch and complain and get a credit or something.
If you're still waiting on the mouse, you could try out MemoryExpress. They're a reputable computer shop here in Calgary, and they ship anywhere in Canada. They show that they have the Drakonia Black in stock, and I've found they are really good about tracking inventory. http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX47802
Cool, I hadn't heard of these guys before. Sadly I don't have/use credit cards and used Paypal to pay for my Sharkonia Black at NCIX. These guys don't look like they take Paypal? Its not in the FAQ
Hahahaha no. But living cash makes life a lot easier. Either Paypal or Cash is what I use when dealing with things on the net. Or prepaid credit cards but there is no 60$ amount I don't believe.
Not that this will apply to you Michael, but the left click button on my Drakonia Black crapped out on me last night. It was mushy when I got the mouse. I've got what, less than a month on it. I'm returning it, and the place I got mine from already has a new one on the way. I just thought I'd mention with the... kerfuffle you are having getting yours. If the second one doesn't pan out for me I will let you know.
Got the replacment, spent last night putting it through it's paces. Buttons aren't mushy like the last one. that is a good sign.... to be straightforward though, I've become a bit Jaded through the whole process. I'm happy with the performance of the mouse and everything, I just don't like having to return things. If I was still waiting like you are, I would cancel my order and go with something else... probably a Roccat, or maybe a corsair M65.... The pricetag is a bit more, but both are available locally, thank God for MicroCenter, and if there was a problem, would have been easier to exchange.
