new mechbay challenge

I had Premium Time running still from the clan buy and when I got 20 wins, it tacked on +7 days automatically. In the past, you had to activate it even when you had some running, but that's changed.

 

Heh LT, since I saw you this morning, I still haven't gotten my 10th win Lucky dog

 

I've noticed ECM heavy teams win almost every time. I've been playing my ECM commando for that reason, running ECM cover for the heavies, but now that I've got to 20 wins I'll go back to whatever mech I feel like.

Honestly though, I think a lot more players than usual are playing to winl, but they don't know how to. I've seen matches where the score bounces between winning and loses several times, which can be fun. But most of those matches are were where each side had at least two ECM mechs.

 

Yeah, I'm about to switch off my DWF back to my new Raven. 7/8 of my wins are from the Raven...

p.s. ECM is important, but doesn't mean it is a Win-Guarantee. If your team contains a bunch of idiots, not even 10x ECM can save your butt.

Btw, yah i played several rounds in my D-Fox/SRM16 with no ECM. OMG! How could I? Deserved to be teamkilled! ..And you know what? Most games I killed 3-4 Opponents including Direwhales - that helped the team win faster.

 

Teamkill u?? No map is big enough to make a line of volunteers

 

Most of my wins were in an ECM mech with one or two other ECM teammates. That's just what I've seen, but I'm not going to argue that an ECM mech will be more valuable to the team than a good damage dealer. But I haven't been playing that long and am often only a decent pilot. I suppose I kept even poorer pilots than me from being killed by missiles before they could do damage.

I just barely managed to hit 10 wins Have days off work the next 2 days, so I should be able to finish it off, but I've seen some alarmingly BAD players out there. For some reason, every time they do one of these contests, I run games where 99% of the people are names I've never seen before...

 

I thought it would take more but I almost won all Yesterday 17 out of 24 matches

best match was a 6 kill with the beloved spider 5K ahah

if I get to 20 wins and log off, then never log in it should activate the next time I log in right?

So I can level the nova while having premium on, and speed tweak them faster

 

Finally had a good run (6 in a row), plus I got to NARC Remarius

 

It's been a strange experience thus far. I'm definitely not dropping with the usual group of players in my Blackjack, most seem quite green with maybe a few months or so experience, if that. Lot of simple rookie mistakes, very unfocused teams (yes, more than usual,) and some terrible builds.

I was quite impressed at this guy's longevity and/or how terribly inaccurate the enemies were, however:

Not sure about that bit, logging off and coming back on for a redeem and start of premium time. I had that in the botched clan invasion and PGI triggered it for a day without letting me pick.

 

Afaik it triggers instantly when you get your 20wins. At least that happened to me. Why should logoff would delay it? It's activated from serverside, not clientside unlike the regular bought PT. So you better play some rounds asap before you get a Shock next time logging in.

 

Lets just say.... I fucking hate this hellslinger....

Trying to double mechs and 8 losses in a row on this one. Even when I get 3 kills in a battle we still lose badly.

Currently 6 wins 21 losses....

Last match they had 4 timberwolves, 2 dire wolves, 1 stormcrow, 1 summoner, 1 raven 3l, 1 ember, 1 BLR-1S LRM boat and 1 CAT LRM boat.

We had my crap Hellslinger, 1 TBR, 1 Adder, 2 Kitfoxes, 1 Griffin, 2 Hunchback, 1 Atlas-D, 1 raven 2x, 1 JM6 and 1 Ilya.

I know its frustration speaking but I killed a TBR and DWF ... out of our 3 kills.

How is that match even remotely balanced?

 

Attempt 9.... doubled .... for 7/21... a 25% success rate. Might have to join the dweebs in their meta mechs after I cook dinner for the family.

Really don't get my struggle with that mech as it has a core load out (2 ERLL and 4 ML) I'm very used to on other mechs just the support weapons are different as it has streaks.

Feels so clumsy even doubled up with a 340 std engine.

because I remember redeeming items like that in the past challenges, but then again it might just activate after 15 min, redeem on log in but come already used, and this is probably what is gonna happen.

I stopped at 19 wins because I cannot play much anyway these 2 days, and would waste premium, I will log in in the last 5 hours of the challenge to win the premium time

Also I don't even know how much nova would be worth it now that I see the summoner is coming 2 weeks later, and that would allow me to use all the clan tech, while nova is pretty limited to energy even if it can mount ballistics too. What I really want is the stormcrow, but that takes still a lot of time.

 

So, you guys scared me into checking on my PT reward. I was going to log in and not hit okay if it asked me to redeem my reward. Instead, it let me know it was delivered and started it then. So, if you have I active PT then if you stop after 20 you can log in at a future time to start your 7 days. Blah.

Plus side? 37/50 for the c-bills. That is good for me as I am one of the peeps here that actually needs it!
