New Hero Mech Sighting: The Jester

I know, I tried to prove it too her, but the more I did the more she laughed. It's funny, she likes to ping on me about being a geek over the MechWarrior stuff, but she will sit for hours sometimes and watch me play.

 

Hmm. Trying to determine my level of want.

Pults are my least favorite heavy of the ones I have currently (Pult, QDK, Tbolt, Phract, Jag).
Hmm. I have been sitting on MC for a while, though, and high-mounted energy with JJ is tempting.

 

Could be interesting with 4 x ERLL as well.

 

I am in the boat now with most of ya'll.... trying to determine the level of want.

We need info when they put out the pics of these guys. It would raise the hype level. I like the thought of another K2, but really, the biggest draw of the K2, IMHO, are the Ballistics. If this variant just takes them away and replaces them with 2 energy, I think we have a much much weaker robot than the K2. Honestly, all the builds you guys have posted up so far can be fulfilled by the K2. 4xERLL, 2PPC-2ERLL....

The only thing that would set this apart from the K2 and the Firebrand is the inclusion of jump jets. Even then, for most of the builds, you have a Cata-3D now....

I dunno. The more I think about it, the less excited I get. That thing needs to have at least 4JJ and a max engine of at least 350 to be a different robot, preferably more....

 

Yes, Sir! I agree in this. 4xERLL, jumping and running at ~80 kph would be really nice.

I can imagine a 6xMPlas-version, too. If running with an XL300-315 and 2 JJs

Disagree... K2 has those ballistic slots... you don't think people actually put MG in those do you? Those slots are for friendly things like Gauss and AC10 and what not.

It would be P2W if this mech have 2x ST ballistic slots. That is why I was guessing a CT one.

 

Are we sure of that? Cause the speculation is that it will be all energy but no hard numbers have been released to those of us in the public.

 

If it did have ballistic, it needs to be in the ears.

Now, THAT would kill the K2. With the 6E and 0B, the K2 is safe.

 

I wouldn't go that far, V. The K2 having ballistic is a big draw for many players. I personally prefer a JM6 for that role, however, the K2 is beloved by many players. If the Jester has JJs, that is awesome and all, but, puts it more into the box of a jump-sniper or agile energy boat. That means it's a very different monster than a K2 rolling in with the higher cooling and DPS of Autocannons.

MY real question is will the Jester have a larger Max Engine like the Firebrand... An energy boat Cat w/ JJs that can go 93kph?? Om nom nom!

 

Oh? Did they confirm that there are jump jets on the mech? I know people were speculating about it but doesn't that seem a little OP?
