Mechwarriors, Prove your Allegiance [CW Event]

No kidding, right?

 

Yea that was probably one of the closest battles ever, me and a Banshee (and a disconnected Victor) we where both fresh against 2 enemy's with a total of 3 mechs left. We took care of the first 2 our Banshee was down to 60(something)% and battle ended by timeout after a few shots on that last Stormcrow.

 

18/20 qualifying, only reason two didn't was facing CJF 12-drops one night. Will easily be able to finish up unless something goes HORRIBLY WRONG.

While my wish for a better state still lingers, I actually enjoyed this event as a solo-dropper much more than regular PuG drops (currently working on Liao reputation) and hope a lost of the crowd will stay for CW after the event ends. It's nice to actually have close matches that form quickly, and winning some doesn't hurt either! And, of course, the payouts. Delicious, delicious C-Bills.

 

Honestly...unless I decide to go for rank 6 Davion for that next mech bay, I'm probably done with CW until we switch factions again (I mean, Rank 2 is 1-2 matches). Mostly because I know that, after this, PUG CW week is over, and playing solo like I'm stuck doing at night means that I'm going up against larger, more coordinated groups again. The reason I enjoyed so many matches this weekend was because it was largely PUG vs PUG, I only ran into about 6 or 7 matches where we were against a huge premade (I stopped attacking Liao planets, since TCAF was defending every time).

In other words, having only smaller premade groups for a lot of matches meant that it was kinda like normal queue, a lot of PUGs all playing the lottery to see who got the short stick. Made me wish for a separation of group and solo CW queues all over again, knowing it was never gonna happen In other words, it actually made me want to play CW less after this event.
