Seeing myself floating from Mech to Mech, with only Catapult and Trebuchet fully (3 Version) mastered, but 49 mechbays (with the ones from Phoenix & Saber), full of Mechs in various states of deconstruction (engines reuse for others).. i really wonder.. How many Mechs you use regularly and how many of them are mastered? Surely i tended to see it as "i want all Mastered" but it feels like work, or even frustration trying to master a Mech like the Locust... so i wonder how you all fare? I think about keeping maybe 2 chassis / size class and try to have those 8 chassis mastered for CW...but then, right now, the journey seems the way.. i didnt play much with my 2 mastered chassis since they mastered...
I use 3 or so mechs regularly; depending on my assigned role in a drop. I have 33 mechbays and about 27 mechs with all of them mastered.
60 mechs, most retain the build (except engine) which I liked the most. I rarely scavenge them. That way I can drop in them just by adding engine and modules. Out of the 60, 30-40 something are mastered. Rest are worked on (only the locusts are ignored) when I feel like playing that weight/build. I'm in no hurry. Nearly all are full basic, just rounding out the third chassi. I don't really aim at owning every mech as much as I want to try all possibilities. Kintaros for example I will ignore as I feel they have little to offer and standout against the other meds. When I play a mastered mech for fun I tend to look at build and playstyle, I can't say I play every but many. For variety. Style.
I am too casual and cheapskate. Only got my 4 mechbays. My Jenner-F. First mech. Only Elited. I bought the other Jenners and sold them off just to unlock Elite Efficiencies. Was too lazy to unlock Master. Decided I was too poor on C-Bills/GXP to utilize that extra module slot anyway. My Victor 9S. Sorta sitting there and I use it every now and then. my Shadowhawk 2D2. Sitting in an engineless state of disrepair. It used to pack my XL-300, then after I endeavoured to Elite my Jenner, I took that engine out for a joyride and now it resides in my Jenner. That fourth slot was home to two Jenner variants and will likely be occupied by a BLR-1S soon. Will probably sell my Shadowhawk if I want to Elite more things.
7 mechs, 6 mastered. Currently I play 3 of them regularly: - CTF-3D: my current go-to mech for fun - VTR-9S: slump buster - CTF-4X: learning how to play a slower mech with no jump jets I'm working my way down the weight ladder and aiming to get one of every weight class mastered that I would be comfortable playing in a more competitive environment (if that ever happens). I generally play only about 5 games a night on week nights. Weekends I usually have a goal and will grind away on one mech for a couple of hours a day. Currently I'm just saving up c-bills and deciding what medium to get.
I play a lot of mechs on a regular basis. I started listing them but it's kind of long (~15 mechs in my "short list") but to keep it short most are lights or medium/heavy AC carriers. Only one assault, the AWS-9M. 31 mastered. (I'm with the poll - if possible, I don't know if there's a limit, include the different variants, not only the chassis)
Ive started playing in November last year and atm Im owning 9 mechs: 3 Jenner, 3 HBks and 3 Phracts. All are elited and 6 are mastered so far and since Ive reworked my Jenner K im going to master it as well (from 4ML+SRM6 to 2ERLL+1ML) - probably will do the same with my HBK SP by "collecting" daily victories only - but I still dont trust the SRMs (6,2k points are missing so far)... The 3 mechs i play the most are my Illya (3AC5+3ML), 3D (2PPC+AC10) and HBK P (9ML).
46 mechbays, 45 mechs, 15 chassis mastered/elite. Most of my mechs are built only missing engines and modules. Of the 45 mechs I play my RVN-3L, CDA-3M, CPLT-A1, STK-Misery, CPTLT-K2, HGN-HeavyMetal, BJ-1(C), CPTLT-Jester, JR7-D(Sarah), AS7-Boars Head, AS7-DDC and JNR-Oxide several times a week, almost daily. On top of that I'm working on mastering Hunchbacks, Cataphracts, Griffins and Wolverines at the moment. ((yes, I have one of each hero mech and some day they will all be mastered...))
15 Mechs Mastered. (or have EXP to master, but sold the chassis without unlocking Master level) 12 Mech bays now, getting ready to buy my next three mechs, probably Jaggers. I want to play with a dual Gausse mech. Shadowhawks and Cataphract-3D are my 4 most played mech now. I still like to take out the DDC for an occasional spin and i'm ashamed to say it, but i think i forgot how to pilot the Spider. Might need to go get Jenners next, but will first see what the new light mech will be.
12 Mechbays with 11 of them Mastered, I should finish off the last one tonight or tomorrow! Plus probably 3 or 4 that were mastered then sold.
tl:dr first -- Jenner F (mastered), Shadowhawks (2HP mastered, other two almost) and STK-M (elited) are my go-to mechs ...and the rest Mastered Cicadas to start off (X5, 3M, 2A), play them at least once a week Mastered Jenners next (Oxide, F(C), D), played for high speed fun with a wingman Mastered Catapults (K2 and Jester) about half way to mastering the C4 as a missile boat, still break out the K2 and Jester when I'm in the mood Mastered Spiders (except the V), play them when I feel trolly *grin* Mastered Shadowhawk 2H(P), about halfway on the other two, play these guys a lot currently. Had to buy a Misery (elited) when it was on sale *grin* then spent a mountain of C-Bills on the STK-S (mostly elited)... kinda hoping they'll run one of the other Stalkers as a trial mech so I can grind it through Elite and master the 2 I own (assuming I can apply MXP to a trial chassis) Only my Locust and Spider V are gathering dust at the moment Anything that I'm pushing to mastery and my Hero mechs (money money money) see the most play at any given time - outside that it just depends on my mood and how much I've had to drink ;P
33 mech bays, 20 mechs. Mastered Altases (RS, D-DC, Boar's Head), got all elites on Shadowhawks and Battlemasters. Now working on Kintaros (18, 19, 20) - got all basics already and elite on KTO-19. Locusts, Thunderbolts and Spider are resting for a while, i think i'll work on them later. Never sold a single mech, but always lack c-bills - the biggest expense are XL engines of various sizes. Favorites are KTO-19 and AS7-RS.
32 bays, 31 mechs, 10 mastered. (That seems lower than anticipated, but is apparently accurate...) That said the rest will eventually be mastered. Sans Locust 3M and 1V.
5/4 CPLT-K2;CPLT-C1;CPLT-C4 - I wanted the K2 mastered, so I had to Elite two other variants, too, but by now they're also mastered. JR7-F; JR7-D - Not only music, but also the Jenner was my first love. I had owned all variants (D,F,K) but I was too miserly to invest in additional Mech bays at the time. So I decided to keep only the Jenner-F and master it, and had the other variants elited and sold. With my all-time favorite Mech the Wolverine being released for C-Bills in March, I decided buy some Mech bays after all, and having regretted to sell the Jenner D, I rebought it last week. I'm now giving it the love (with 2 SSRMs and BAP) it deserves and do the final couple of matches to Master it. When I play, I usually take them all out for a walk. Or ten.
I skip from mech to mech, though my favorite chassis are the Hunchback (gotta love that twist range!!), 4G=4P>4J preference Shadowhawk, 2H>2D2>5M Thunderbolt, 5SS>5S>9SE Cataphract, 1X=3D>>>>2X Battlemaster, 1G>1D>>>>>1S (overlord package was a moneygrab, but a good moneygrab) Recently I've also been running Blackjacks for the legendary AC20+3ML and ithe BJ-1X is a more speedy version of the lovely HBK-4P (except the twist range is soooo baaad!!) I've mastered the ones above except Blackjacks, and I've also mastered Stalkers, Jenners, Jagermechs and Dragons (dragons are outclassed by shadowhawks :x)
This in reply to a request from Blag that noone jumped on in the Mechs Mastered / in Use Topic. Michael, maybe combine if possible.
