Hi, No idea if this has been asked before, but: I'm playing around with customising mechs and noticed that if you have a stock mech and remove (say) a PPC from it, you don't get the money back for it? Is this because if you're playing and take a PPC off a chassis, then you have that spare one for something else (instead of having to buy one)? Or could there be an option when you buy a mech to choose if you want to either: 1) Just get the chassis as a stock loadout and pay the normal price? 2) Or if you want to modify the chassis before you buy it and pay whatever the revised price is? I just wondered about this. jadefalcon1974.
When you remove a part it does not sell it, you keep it in your garage. Trust me, as the selling price is only half the buying price, you don't want to sell anything except when you're absolutely sure you will never use it. 3) I want to modify the mech after I bought it, buying the part I will use. I will play, modify, play again, modify again, etc. Customising the mech is one of the main feature of this game (especially for the mechspecs community, we may love the garage more than the battlefield ^^), so we need a flexible system for it, just like the current one. edit: one of the good points of this system is that you can share expensive equipment, such as XL engines, between mechs. Usefull when you're starting and don't have a lot of cash.
To sell an Item in MWO you have to select a Mech/Loadout, then select a Bodypart with the Hardpoint for that Weapon (e.g. Large Laser -> Energy Hardpoint). Then you have to select that Weapon and on the bottom you see a small "Sell" Button. It's a bit tricky to find out how to get there, but once you find out, it's easy.
