"Free" Champion mech is free. As long as you were to play anyway at the weekend why not take the chance? At the very least its a couple million CBills and a mech bay. The conditions for earning that stuff are pretty fair if you ask me.
Thats my problem ... "As long as you were to play anyway"... Do I really want to invest time enough to solo play say 50-60 battles for a couple of mission C-Bills and a free mech bay bonus when I make 250k or so on average per battle anyway and have 5 unused bays? (Plus I'm REALLY enjoying Wasteland 2 and am desperate to play Pathfinder Online!) Fun vs grind.... In fairness I may well try it if I can get a group as then its more fun.
I will... not for the Mechbay, not for the Mech, not for the C-Bills, and even not for the premium time. I don't need any of those. I just want to see the 100% in my challenge stats, is all.
I was going to be farming some cbills and xp anyway. If I get 30 wins, I get it. If not, I don't. Given that I have 4 locusts, 3 commandos, 3 hunchbacks, 4 blackjacks, 2 shadowhawks, 1 thunderbolt, and 2 victors needing at least some XP for mastery, I can certainly get use out of the matches. And I need to buy 2 more TDRs...
Well, get in touch with you favourite Krauts then... I won't be online this evening, but you can bet I'll be there after lunch as well during the evening on both Saturday and Sunday.
Wait. Is that playable now!?!? HOW IS IT!? (I love Pathfinder, but never have time to play with my friends thanks to my work schedule )
See thats my normal approach on these weekends - level up mechs and then I know I'm getting a double dip on rewards. Sadly... having all the mechs in game mastered and a good fully equipped IS drop deck with lots of alt mechs has killed my desire for solo play and grinding.
I don't know thats why I'm desperate to try it this weekend (I sort of embarassingly never used my alpha and beta access )! Coincidentally we just started Pathfinder in RL for the first time two weeks ago ...
someone want to groop up over the weeked, I really want a 3D, thought a two man would increase chance to win EDIT:the arrow will make getting the first two parts easy
It's fun, I love it a lot My gaming group has a standing rule that no one is ever allowed to play a Paladin except for me...apparently, I'm such a smartassed bastard in real life that having me play a goody two-shoes in Pathfinder has the most amazing results.
I haven't played in a while. A tip: Crafting mundane goods costs 1/3 of the market value of that good. Take Craft: Goldsmith. You can now craft gold pieces for 1/3 gold piece each. This can be explained since D&D/Pathfinder matter is made of air/earth/fire/water/positive/negative energy, not atoms. So Banach Tarski applies. Name your character Tywin Lannister, shit gold. Also, Donkeys are 8gp. Larger breeds are up to 1060 lbs. Figure 800 for a normal working donkey. One pound of salt or silver is 5gp. Flesh to Salt (Sorc/Wiz 5, Sandstorm pg 116) turns a creature into salt. And that's not even getting into the fun stuff, like Fred.
Sounds good, the CTF-3D is one of the mechs that can run a lot of different loadouts! Dual-Gauss stays, maybe a PPC/C10, though old meta, could be added
Bit of a pain... 4 hrs in which I did 21 matches with 13 wins of which 11 counted. Losses included a 5 kill and 4 kill match.... Oh well its a start but 13 deaths in 21 matches is fairly appalling. That included a 20 minute period when I walked off to have a drink and "de-stress".....
So far I have seen a lot of kill stealing and hoarding from players. Even ran in to it from one of the new guys in my former unit. Tournaments do strange things to people; definitely brings a different side of a player to the surface.
Conversely I've been seeing people actively asking in team chat if anybody needs a kill when we're up 9-2, it's kind of refreshing.
That is how a team is SUPPOSED to be working!!! You hang out with some class guys then RN cause the group I was a part of consisted of one dick who was running around actively telling his unit mates that he didn't care if people were grinding he was gonna go and get as many kills as he could.
Yeah, sad stuff when people don't care about challenges like this, and don't care to actually hold off on the kill to let a friend get the one he needs. But then, it's always REALLY great to see a team willing to contribute generously the way Integrity mentioned. I had a match (in the last Challenge like this one) where not only my group-mates (about 6 guys) but also the ENTIRE REST OF MY TEAM held off on killing the final 'Mech so that I could get to him and take the kill I needed. And this wasn't a mere matter of not firing that shot so that I could fire mine instead --- they waited a good 45-60 seconds so I could run ~750 meters across Alpine, in a Stormcrow, to get to the last legged Jenner alive! Good times, I was REALLY grateful, to all those guys, and I said so in team-chat. Made me feel like a million bucks to see that kind of generosity in an online game.
