downloaded the patch, tried to get in my first game at 7:25pm eastern (in a medium and the queue was all within +/- 3% of each weight class)... 5 minutes later no match. Alt-tabbed out to play on the internet for a few minutes. Tried to get in a match at 7:35 (same meidum). 5 minutes later no match. If we don't have 3333 and we barely have any Elo bands, how do I not get a game at close to prime time? As Russ' twitter said, they're getting some good metrics from this test! #ggclose Finally got in my 3rd try and we barely played we were all just bitching about the MM the whole time. I'm pretty sure I'd either quit my job I'd be so embarrassed or kill myself if I was this incompetent time after time after time after time...
haha, just looked at the mwo forums. i think the threads on this topic are even more fun than the lrmageddon ones. Just so much fail, if I didn't have premium time running, I'd just follow SubjectSeven's advice and start playing Smite.
I was very disappointed to see the thread about all missiles being borked...mostly because I've been trying to get better with my Oxide lately, and I liked the SRM build I was using. Took it into the testing ground...and could barely kill an Atlas by dumping every single missile I had into its back. Took about 400 SRMs to get the job done. Hmm. Something's wrong there... Decided to try it out on the stationary commando from the back, and took almost 200 SRMs to kill that. 300 from the front. On a Commando. So guess I shelf the Oxide for a while, and stick to my Jenner F instead...
Yeah it turned out to be the clain LRM code they implemented ... which effected every missile. Damage scaling to max range....
Have to admit I'm used to the 5 min waits for a game anyway so its not been so bad for me but I sympathize with people stuck in them. Not a good time to be levelling 5 new mechs though. :blush:

Sorry should have been more specific. TLDR the new code was applying the clan minimum range code to inner sphere missile weapons and using the maximum missile range as full damage with a sliding scale down. Aka half damage at mid range etc. It was applied to all missiles. So SRM's at max range were doing full damage.... pity the streak light a point blank. God I miss those 5 min queues and balanced teams. Every game is now assaults and hard to level new hunchbacks etc with no speed tweak, agility upgrades etc. On the good side I'm not waiting over a minute for a game today...
I have played Two, YES TWO, flipping game for more than an hour of wait and again wait. The cpu useage is off the chart and still no flipping game. I think 3/3/3/3 si totally not viable if things go on like this. And for the record, I am choosing the recommand class that is suggested, so other peopel in other classes would have it worse.
For the state of missiles being annoying, all it meant was that I played my Jenner F instead tonight...but the longest wait I had was maybe 1:30? Played as lights every game. Could just mean my ELO's lower so it's easier to match me up though
Dropped twice with Don Zappo last night (would have been three, but the first time we dropped, I literally dropped. Hit a black screen and didn't go no further.) and none of our waits were longer than a minute, including my failed launch. So chances are, our ELO was perfectly in the middle since we could go up or down.
I'll try to get on tonight to do some testing. I've been so busy I haven't even logged onto my actual gaming computer in about two weeks. I've run a couple half-ass tests on my work PC, but, it's a cheap workstation, so, no real game demonstration... Still, with a game that ended their beta period 4 months ago, this is pathetic. They have not release ONE SINGLE FULL PATCH since live that hasn't had serious, often game-breaking, bugs... What crap.
Last night I was having long waits like 10+minutes per match. Today they've been popping like normal. I do think the no more than 4 of any weight class is better than the 3x4.
Did they change it to this (no more than 4 of any 1 class) or is it just back to anything goes like it's always been?
They tried 4/4/4 but I don't think they were properly ready to implement it. They ended up turning it off completely (again)
Heh why apologize to me? You didn't say anything mean Sadly...a lot of the problems with the latest patch turned me off, and I'm a die hard BT/MW fan from the TT days. While I loved how easy it was to play my Jenner and Ember with missiles being neutered, it was very disheartening to see this happen (again) to the game. It didn't help that I had just gotten myself an Oxide to play around with, but I think I need a couple days away from the game. That said, it did convince me to finally play PSO2 with the English language patch, so it's not all bad
Just hate letting down the team and probably take the game too seriously. Was levelling mechs with srm's on yesterday mainly... TBH the missile screw up is the first time I've thought WTF???? Hopefully the fix overnight has sorted it. Edit: I say that but I still put in about 10 hrs as had the day off and weather was crap.
