Is the King Crab the first IS assault mech that can do 2x Ballistics of ballistics weapons that actually matter? I know there are 2xLB and 2xUAC builds for Atlai and Highlanders, but previously I haven't seen anything bigger than a Jager that can do 2xAC20.
Holy hell... incoming 2x UAC5 + 2x AC5 builds.... or 4x AC5 + 2x AC2.... Daishi be like "Dafuq!?" unless it has a hand actuator for the claw, then it will be just 4x AC5, but STILL!
If it comes with 2x AC20 - and it does - why don't you think about quad UAC5? This was my very first thought when I read this thing comes with multiple ballistic HPs.
Ummh... CT = damage MAGNET! Its twist speed and size is insane but using ac 5's you'd lose that huge advantage and need to keep that CT open as you hose the enemy down. Looks very vulnerable to Artie and LRM's as the top is so large an area. Other than that... yummy and op.
derp. yeah, I guess that makes sense. if 2x AC20 can fit then 4x UAC5 can fit by default. I forgot the video shows it doesn't have lower arm actuators.
Too good i have bought the Resistance Collection. Can't wait to pilot this Monster. I wonder how the Sidetorso Hitbox is, coz this Dakka King cries for as much free weight as possible.
For 4x UAC5 you need to run either XL or STD300, which means slow. Either that or you will have minimal secondary weapon. Even a few ML helps since your arms are huge... 2xAC20 is obvious, so I will not mention that. If you are willing to use XL, or are happy with STD300 then you can direwhale it with 2xERPPC/PPC + 2x Gauss. Your PPC is even high mount on the head. 2xLBX10/AC10 + 4xML + 4x SRM4. Maybe a bit slow, but that would be decent up close. (probably end up using less ML for heat reasons) Another choice is to not use the arms at all for the 0000 version, and go LL+PPC with SRM6+A, shield arms.
Man these things look beastly, but boy howdy, the Assault queue is going to be ridiculous until at least January.
OMG! 6MG King Crab action! Looks like each arm has 3x Ballistic hard points. (last Crab is with 6 AC2s)
Not like I would care. I wold level my King Crab in pug, at least until I elite 1 of them. That is why we have pugs, right?
Probably. And if you see a Locust running around as a first mech, you can anticipate that there is at going to be at least one 100 tonner in reserve to face later. Soooo..... leg the locust and leave him
I recall PGI speaking about a "eject" option, in order to not unbalance the game too badly when such a event happens. Ofc, I foresee lots of premature ejections. And no, I didn't go there.
Nice catch, didn't think it was due out until the 16th! Mmh odd thing is I'm not sure I want to level it as working really hard on my CW builds/practice and CW is getting mighty close..... Its like going right back to the beginning again as I'm in Jenners currently which were my first ride really back in beta as couldn't get on with the Atlas, Hunchback or Catapult. Its like riding a bike.
