I'm new to the forum but just had to tell ya how badass and fun this mech is to play..It just now almost put me in the JM6 1000 dmg club but just shy at 985... still awesome build.

I realize this is an old post, but I figured I'd just leave this here. I'm a big fan of AMS on 50t+ mechs since it only takes a ton or a ton and a half to give some protection to both yourself and allies from missiles.
This build improves the leg armor to a reasonable level and keeps the head fairly protected. Dropping the engine to 245 lets me fit a full AMS complement and the DHS to partially compensate for the loss of an internal HS, and you'll still never overheat until the two MLas come into play.

I love this build, the Chainsaw Massacre is still a viable build for the Jagermech as it is still capable to hold its own on the battlefield. The added AMS is a good idea too especially solo-pug-dropping. The drop in speed is still a manageable 67kph (coming from an Atlas pilot, 63kph and below). As a long range direct fire support, highly recommended!

For more consistent DPS for the luckless and somewhat easier ammo management, enjoy this build

Cutting UACs for regular AC/5s gives the Jager some flexibility. As you can see I chose to upgrade the engine, giving this variation a speed boost which I find helpful on fire-support platforms, as it imparts the flexibility to shift your attention more easily and gives you a chance to flee if caught and accelerates your ability to pop up and down hills. However, the extra three tons gives the Jager the ability to add more ammo for sustained fire, some more MLas, or upgrade to MPLs.
You're also less likely to run dry with normal AC/5s, which I prefer since I like to stick around after fighting.
