The UAC5 + SRM2 is a very fun combination: you get good DPS and constant cockpit shake. All weapons are high-mounted so try to expose as little as possible. SRM2 with Artemis has very little spread. Usage: 2xUAC5 long range. Spam alpha close range (but watch your heat especially on hot maps). Chain fire SRM2 and UAC5 to drive away lights.
SRM2 without Artemis are rather weak, but with Artemis they are very focused. The waste of tonnage IMHO would be taking SRM2 without Artemis. You should give it a try.
Or you can straight replace the SRM2+A with basic SRM4s. Much higher alpha and DPS... I do see the appeal of SRM2+A though. It fires faster and you can make your ammo last longer. 2 tons with SRM4s will be gone in no time... but at least you'll pack a really big punch. I'm considering this build with a smaller engine, SRM4s, and AC10s
I'm well aware of the differences, I intentionally picked SRM2 over SRM4 as the faster fire rate of SRM2s creates a rather nice synergy with the fire rate of UAC5s. I'm not trying to maximize DPS or alpha here (that's pretty muched a solved problem by now), instead I want to highlight the synergy of these weapons, a combination I haven't seen around much. I also posted a VTR-9S earlier based on the same concept.
