Does a full-content included game get and keep more long term players than a game that has smaller content up front but releases content often or somewhat often?

i.e Grand Theft Auto versus MWO?

nowadays its a bit different with most all games having some map packs or expansions like CoD but i'm talking more about the base starter $60 game with a single player campaign plus online and whatever else the creators decided to add, extra purchasable content excluded.

I am going to voice my opinion here.

A game that is released as full content, with no further updates apart from bug fixes would get very boring for me, as you would reach the top, than have nothing left to do but keep grinding on the same jobs over and over and over. That bores me and I will just stop playing.
There are many games out there where all you do is grind, I will use WoW as the example, to get up to the top levels, you pretty much do nothing but grind, you repeat the same daily missions over and over and over, and most of the missions, no matter what, are repeats just done a bit differently.

Eg: I need the (bodypart) of 10 (animal), go and kill 10 (animal) and bring me their (bodypart).
    Eg: Go and kill (character).
Eg: Go to the terminal, insert the data disc and hold off the opposing force3s while the data loads.

There are many more examples I can give, yes, there are people out there who just live off the one game, personally, this is not me.

With what they are doing with Mechwarrior Online, Warframe, and other games, releasing more and more content keeps people interested for longer.

Eg: Oh, a new mech, lets try it out.
Eg: Hey, a new boss enemy to defeat.

To me, new content, new game developments are the lifeblood for a game, and no 2 games in MWO are the same, because you are playing against people, not scripts.

in my opinion, new, fresh content will hold more players, and attract more players because it is not just the same old thing over and over and over.
