Just wondering how much armor you guys usually leave on a shield arm. I have the CDA-2A, and I'm looking at getting a CN9-A, and I'm trying to figure out some possible builds. Is it worth fully armoring arms up, or is it a waste? Can I take it down to single digits on a Light/Medium Mech? On a related note, how do you know how much internal armor a Mech's component has? I know that they all have different values, but I don't know of any resource to find that out.
All of the armor! seriously though as much as you can fit without sacrificing to much in other places.
I believe someone told me the internal health was exactly half of the total max armor value (so for torso's front+rear max added, divided by 2). If an arm can have up to 24 armor, the internal health is 12.
Now that you say that, I think I've heard that before too. Thanks! How about the sad little arms on a Cicada? Has anyone actually ever had them get shot off? I only have about 100 matches in a Cicada, but I don't think I've ever lost an arm.
well, the arms are really small and they will die from 1 good alpha. Then again, so does most of your mech, dodging is the name of the game here, and a little extra armor on your sides will not do terribly much. it's more effective to find an area with a lot of cover and use that as your invulnerable shield.
